The End of the Year Book Tag

September 23, 2017

Hi, lovelies! Today, I’m going to be doing a tag that I’ve seen going around a lot lately, and to be frank, I was confused by the first time I saw it. I thought, “end of the year tag? But it’s only September?” Well, this tag is actually more about your preparations for the end of the year. Huh, go figure.

Anyways, I was tagged to do this by a blogger whose blog seems to have disappeared, sadly. 🙁 Since I can’t ping her, I’ll ping the other two lovely folks who I grabbed the questions from: Alex and Sofii!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

There are a couple of books that I started and put on hold (not quite the same as DNFing, imo) this year, but none of them are on my priority list to finish before 2018, to be honest.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

A few weeks ago, I would’ve said An Enchantment of Ravens, but I’ve read that now (review here), so I’ll say… Strange Weather by Joe Hill!

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

I have a few on pre-order that I wasn’t able to read ARCs of, like There’s Someone Inside Your House, The Language of Thorns, and Renegades.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Three of my top TBR titles for the rest of the year are actually backlisted titles I’ve been meaning to read for a while now: The Hate U Give, The Assassin’s Blade, and Winter.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

My only 2018 reading plan so far is to request less ARCs! I love getting ARCs and am so privileged to have the opportunity to read them, but I have a bad habit of requesting too many and becoming a little bit buried by them. I’ll still send in requests for any that genuinely catch my eye, but I want to stop requesting so many just because I’ve heard good reviews. If I listed all of the backlogged titles on my Netgalley shelf that I requested only because someone recommended them to me… oy.

I’m not going to tag anyone, mainly because I feel like I’m the last person to jump on this wagon and everyone else has already probably done it, lmao! If you’re also late to doing this tag, feel free to tag me in your post so I can read your answers! <3
