T10T: Ten Books With LGBTQ+ Characters

September 26, 2017

This is a weekly tag hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s challenge is to pick ten books with _____ characters – you fill in the blank!

For this week’s prompt, I decided to focus on LGBTQ+ characters. If you follow my blog regularly, you know that, every Thursday, I do a Diversity Spotlight where I feature 3 diverse reads. I’ve been doing that for a couple of months now, and it’s been a fun meme, but I don’t believe I’ll continue doing it every week – probably just every so often! To bring it to an end, I thought what better way than to put the spotlight on ten books that I love recommending for queer rep?

1. Now I Rise – Kiersten White

i loved simon from "simon vs. the homo sapiens agenda" too! <3

    1. Great topic. Gentleman’s Guide is so great. I didn’t know that Hunting Prince Dracula would have rep like that. That’s great. The first book wasn’t really my thing but the title alone for this second one is making me itch to get it.

    1. I’ve heard so many good things about The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue….I hope I can read it sometime this year! Great List!

    1. I really enjoyed The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and can only recommend it. I have Now I Rise – Kiersten White on my tbr – can’t wait to pick it up.

    1. I clicked on this SO FAST when I saw it. Aaand then added all the ones I hadn’t read yet to my TBR. I need more books with LGBTQ+ characters. Thanks for the recs!

    1. I FINALLY own The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue; and Stalking Jack The Ripper is on its way! [Alas, Amazon is being a **** so I have no clue when it’ll arrive..] AND Daughter of the Burning City is also on my TBR.

God, I’ll be crying the day I can say that I’ve actually read every interesting book on a list instead of going “I own it, but have yet to read it!”

      Great list though, haha!

            1. 3 days of book blogging.. Or wanting to make your “Most anticipated” list for 2018.. Which I still have to do and I think I’ll be crying when I’m doing so. :’D

    1. Sadly I haven’t read many books with LGBTQ+ characters. There are some books in the list which I am seeing everywhere these days. I am definitely adding some of these to my list 🙂 Great list!
