T10T: Books I Can’t Believe I HAVEN’T Read

TTT-Big2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Technically, this week’s prompt was to pick ten books you couldn’t believe you HAD read, but you guys know me… such a rebel. 😉 So, here are ten books I’m actually a bit ashamed that I haven’t read yet.

(I made myself pick one book per series max; otherwise, this list would mostly have just been the Throne of Glass books.)

1

1. Six of Crows – Leigh Bardugo
I feel like the literal last person in the entire YA book community to have not picked up this book.

2. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams
I know, I know. How can you call yourself a scifi fan if you haven’t read this one, right?!

3. The Fellowship of the Ring – J. R. R. Tolkien
^ replace “scifi” with “fantasy” in previous caption 😂

4. IT – Stephen King

^ replace “fantasy” with “horror” 😂😂😂

5. Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas
I just really love Sarah’s writing, and I need to get a move on this series, BUT IN MY DEFENSE… at least I read The Assassin’s Blade!

2

6. Song of Achilles – Madeline Miller
You guys know I love my tragic gay love stories, so like… what rock have I been hiding under to not have read this yet?

7. Daughter of Smoke and Bone – Laini Taylor
This feels like it’s been on my TBR forever, so I’m finally ordering the UK paperbacks soon!

8. Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead
Another book that has been on my TBR FOREVEEEEER… so I got it from BookOutlet recently, and it’s in my “must read” list for 2018.

9. The Troop – Nick Cutter
This one, I just feel bad about because I requested it for my birthday a couple of years ago, my mom got it for me, I was so pumped… and I still haven’t read it. 😂

10. The Book Thief – Markus Zusak
I know. For shame. I actually was going to read this earlier in the month for Life & Lit’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day event, but I literally had it on hold at the library all. month. long(!). And it never showed up, and then The Dollmaker of Krakow destroyed my soul forever, so I decided to hold off on this one until my heart heals a little bit.

What’s a book you can’t believe you haven’t read yet?

I haven’t read Six Of Crows and Throne of Glass either 😀 Or any of Leigh Bardugo or Sarah J Mass’ works so that often comes across as a shocker. I loved TVA so you have to read it! I’m glad it’s on your must read list of 2018. IT is good but I don’t get the hype over it; it’s a bit dragging if you ask me. But of course, Stephen King’s one of the best has to be a must-read haha )

I’ve only read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone out of all those so I guess you could say your list is pretty much the same as mine 😂 we should all be #noshame though because books should be read in the right time

Six of Crows, Throne of Glass, Daughter of Smoke & Bone and Vampire Academy: CHECK.
Other ones: noooope. I do have the LOTR-books [since this month, ha!], The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy [I think it’s in a book with a couple of stories of my boyfriend?], IT, and The Book Thief at home. Ugh, so many books.

If you read Daughter of Smoke & Bone you’ll end up with a desire to visit Prague, though! Fair warning, haha. 😀

Oh no, you have to read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy! The Book Thief and Six of Crows are also must reads. 😀 I have a bunch of older fantasy that I am ashamed to say I have never read, haha.

This is a really good twist on the prompt, but if I had done this my list would have stretched up into the hundreds! I’ve actually read The Hitchhiker’s Guide series, because my boyfriend recommended them to me just after we started going out and I wanted to impress him. They were a lot of fun, and I’m glad I listened to his advice.

    Here’s my TTT!

I’ve only read three from this list so I’m not far behind you lol. I’ve read Vampire Academy, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and only just finished reading Six of Crows.

I haven’t read Six of Crows yet either! It is sitting on bookshelf, just waiting for me, but every time I think it’ll be next on my list, a book comes in from the library, or I get a new book box, etc. and I just never get around to it!

I absolutely LOVE The Book Thief, but it definitely took me a bit of time to recover. I hope you enjoy it, once you get to it!

I have read IT but I see quite a few others here I have on my shelves that I haven’t read either. In particular The Troop, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Six of Crows (and Crooked Kingdom) and Hitchhiker’s Guide. So sad but too many books, not enough time. Love your twist.

I haven’t read Throne of Glass or The Book Thief either. And I have Throne of Glass too, I just haven’t picked up on it. I haven’t read Six of Crows either! I have read Vampire Academy back in high school, and I thought it was cute. My TTT

DESTINY. Read Six of Crows! I feel like you would love it so much!! Also, Daughter of Smoke and Bone! Just read all of them, okay? Maybe not The Book Thief because I didn’t really like that one. LOL

Don’t worry Destiny, I was woefully late to the party regarding The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy also. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook version narrated by Stephen Fry — the perfect match of narrator and prose, his delivery of the dry, satirical humour a real treat. Enjoy!

I’ve literally only read The Vampire Academy on this list so don’t feel too bad! I’ve never read a Leigh Bardugo or a SJM so… you’re not the only one, don’t worry. I def want to get to a lot of these myself this year.

…. I have so many of these on my TBR as well, haha! I’m especially ashamed of myself for Fellowship and Song of Achilles.
In ALL seriousness I would love to do a buddy read of Song of Achilles here before Circe comes out! In which case id definitely do a buddy read for Circe too haha! Let me know, girl! 😁❤
