Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story, and is a super fun (and simultaneously productive) tag to help you whittle away at those never-ending TBRs! (By the way, you can click on the covers to go to the Goodreads listings!)
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 1,065 titles
Stars Above by Marissa Meyer – added 12.12.16
I’ve actually read most of the short stories in this collection, but I’m leaving it on my TBR shelf until I’ve finished them.
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo – added 12.12.16
As much as I may dislike Mal’s entire existence… I am determined to complete this trilogy some time this year.
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo – added 12.12.16
See previous caption. 😂
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas – added 12.12.16
I already felt pretty confident that I would like this series, but after how much I loved The Assassin’s Blade, now I have to read the series!
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas – added 12.12.16
See CoM’s caption.
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas – added 12.12.16
See CoM’s caption.
Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas – added 12.12.16
See CoM’s caption.
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick – added 12.12.16
I know a lot of people love this series, but most of the reviews I’ve read make me think I missed the hype window for this one.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard – added 12.12.16
I already own this book, and I still have no interest in ever reading it. It just honestly sounds so boring and… meh.
The Selection by Kiera Cass – added 12.12.16
My gut honestly tells me that I won’t like this book, but a lot of my friends really loved the series, so I’ll give it a chance.
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder – added 12.12.16
A girl whose punishment is to be executed, or become a food taster for royalty? I love books set in palaces and such, and I love political intrigue, plus I’m told that this book is more NA fantasy than YA, which I’m always here for.
Ink and Bone by Lisa Unger – added 12.12.16
I’m so picky about thrillers, and this one about a psychic using her powers to help find a missing girl just doesn’t strike my interest at all.
The Fireman by Joe Hill – added 12.12.16
Why on earth have I not read this yet? I love Joe Hill and everything I’ve ever read by him, so I need to get moving on this!
What Light by Jay Asher – added 12.12.16
Earlier this year, I actually accepted that Jay Asher’s writing isn’t for me, and unhauled this book from my physical shelf.
My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix – added 12.12.16
This is actually really high on my TBR, especially after how much my friend Bergen has raved about Grady’s writing!
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – added 12.12.16
I honestly didn’t expect to make this decision so fast, but at the time that I’m compiling this post, I’m only halfway through City of Bones and I’m already certain that I’ll happily pick up every one of the Shadowhunters books.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo – added 12.12.16
This one seems obvious?
Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard – added 12.12.16
Considering I just “removed” the first book in this series…
The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater – added 12.12.16
I’m so scared and sad to see the end of this series, but yes, yes, yes, a million times, yes.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – added 12.12.16
I honestly felt really “meh” about this book when I first added it to my TBR, and I still feel “meh” about it.
REMOVAL PERCENTAGE THIS WEEK: 30%
That’s pretty low, after the last few weeks… whoops!
