Moody May — No TBR?!

April 27, 2018

Hello, lovelies! I know I usually wait until the first of the month to post my TBR, but May is a special case because, well… I’m not creating one! I know, I’ll wait for you all to overcome your shock…

Seriously, though, my friend Kathy @ Books and Munches has created an awesome challenge for us this month: Moody May! The idea is to avoid creating a TBR at all, and to only read the books that the mood genuinely strikes you for.

Since I’m not allowed to make a TBR, she suggested that I direct you guys to my full owned TBR post here (being updated weekly), as well as creating a full list of my unread ARCs! I’m not going to include any backlist ARCs, just future releases.

Here is my request for you guys…

Pick one ARC from this list and one (non-ARC) TBR title from the full TBR list that you think I should read in Moody May, and let me know in the comments, please!

      1. I seriously can’t believe I haven’t read Nyxia yet – but I feel like I should ASAP with the sequel coming out, right? Haha! The Diviners also sounds super good – amazing suggestions! ♥ Thank you, love!

    1. I already know you’re reading Lifel1k3! So I’mma say Anger is a Gift for your ARC and for non-ARC IN OTHER LANDS.

      1. I sure am! ♥ I’m hoping to finish it by the next few days. Thank you for the recs! (I don’t know if I told you already, but In Other Lands is sitting on my “top TBR” shelf right now on my bookcase so that I KNOW I can’t forget it!)

    1. This is a great idea! If I didn’t have so many ARCs to read in May, I would try this. My picks are LIFEL1k3 ARC and The Coldest Girl in Coldtown backlist! Have fun:-)

      1. Thank you, Tammy! I totally *should* focus on ARCs in May, too, but… c’est la vie, lol! Hopefully I’ll still manage to get the important ones in on time! Thank you so much for your recommendations! ♥

    1. Oooooh I think you and I should host a readalong together for Crooked Kingdom! Yes yes? 😀 <3

      1. Buuuuut since I can’t actually do that in May (just realized LOL silly me) I recommend My Best Friend’s Exorcism!

        1. Ahhh no haha! That would have been so cool! I guess it works out okay that you aren’t able to, though, because I’m buddy reading it with a friend and we just started it yesterday! I love it already ♥ And thank you!

          1. Haha yup that saved me from crying alone in a corner! JK hahaha <3 I might host a readalong in June…but I tend to be busy in the summers so maybe nooooot LOL

    1. anger is a gift & nyxia! i mean i havent read either but maybe we can motivate each other lmao

    1. Ohhhh that’s so hard. You have so many amazing ARCs at the moment! I think ARCwise I’dbe tempted to say either the Song of Blood and Bone or Anger is a Gift. But then I know you also love the Stalking Jack the Ripper series sooooo….
Non-ARCs: The Bone Witch or Exit West would be great for Asian-Pacific Heritage Month,

      1. Thank you, Amanda! I loved Royal Bastards so I really do need to read the sequel ASAP, especially since it’s an ARC. And Roar sounds so good so I’m really happy you loved it!

    1. Ohmygod. To Be Honest and What If It’s Us. <3
And you have to finish Children of Blood and Bone at some point!
      AUTOBOYOGRAPHY.
Like. I hope you get yourself in the mood for those ones.
You HAVE to be in the mood for those. :')

      1. Finishing COBAB is totally non-negotiable, so listen here, mood, you better get your shit together for some high fantasy ASAP! Lmao… seriously though, these are all amazing recs, so thank you! ♥

    1. The Summer Children! ?
Moody May is literally story of my life… one challenge I won’t fail ?

      1. Thank you for the rec! ♥ BAHAHA I love it!! I used to never do TBR lists until last spring/summer, so I’m kind of hoping that this goes well enough that it helps me stop depending on them and go back to mood reading more often!

    1. ARC: Life Lik3
TBR: hmmm so hard to choose! Autoboyography
      Good luck!!

    1. I really want you to read Escaping From Houdini but I also really want to know your thoughts on Lifeik3! For a physical book, you should read Leah On The Offbeat because it’s a new release and I’d also be pretty interested to know your opinions on it too!

      1. I just marked you down for both in my recommendation sheet, heh. Thank you, love! ♥ They both sound so good that I legit am having a hard time deciding which one to read first!

Say hello! ♥
