Down the TBR Hole #33

June 10, 2018

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story, and is a super fun (and simultaneously productive) tag to help you whittle away at those never-ending TBRs! (By the way, you can click on the covers to go to the Goodreads listings!)

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Current “to-read” shelf: 895 titles

BOOKS 591-595:

01.jpg

Some Will Not Sleep by Adam Nevill – added 05.08.17
I have a few of Adam’s books on my TBR, but this one sounds like the best intro to it, since I love anthologies so much!
keepflower

The Reviled by Cynthia A. Morgan – added 05.08.17
This just doesn’t sound particularly special.
removeflower

Twisted Little Things and Other Stories by Amy Cross – added 05.08.17
I do love horror anthologies, like I said… buuuut, that also means I can justify whittling away at them a little.
removeflower

What’s a Soulmate? by Lindsey Ouimet – added 05.08.17
Again, nothing special here, I don’t think.
removeflower

The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan – added 05.08.17
Gotta keep this one!

BOOKS 596-600:

02

Waking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel – added 05.08.17
I do want to check this series out sometime, but this is book 2!
removeflower

Flawed by Cecelia Ahern – added 05.08.17
I’m iffy on dystopians sometimes, but this one is pretty widely loved.
keepflower

The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin – added 05.09.17
I should probably check out the Mara Dyer trilogy first, eh?
removeflower

Chernobyl 01:23:40 by Andrew Leatherbarrow – added 05.09.17
This isn’t something I’m super interested in anymore.
removeflower

I’m Traveling Alone by Samuel Bjork – added 05.09.17
Crime thrillers are very hit and miss (mostly miss) for me, buuuut this sounds pretty creepy and good.

BOOKS 601-605:

03

Untitled by Sarah J. Maas – added 05.09.17
ACOTAR #4! Lol, y’all already know.
keepflower

Tooth & Talon by James Lee – added 05.11.17
Like I said… it’s time to start whittling away at this Indie Horror Anthology TBR.
removeflower

A Trinity of Wicked Tales, Vol 1: Jilted Love by K. T. Rose – added 05.11.17
I don’t remember adding this, but it honestly doesn’t sound good to me at all.
removeflower

Voodoo Child by R.D. McKown – added 05.11.17
… this synopsis tells me literally nothing. “This book will terrify you, amaze you, and keep you awake”? That’s not enough.
removeflower

The Sign in the Moonlight and Other Stories by David Tallerman – added 05.11.17
I should just start copy/pasting a formatted “knocking out the Indie Horror Anthology TBR” message for these.

BOOKS 606-610:

04

A Million Junes by Emily Henry – added 05.12.17
This cover is stunning, and a lot of my friends 5-starred this one!keepflower

The Telling by Alexandra Sirowy – added 05.12.17
I’m interested in this, but I own a different book of hers and think I’ll try that one first instead.
removeflower

Seed by Ania Ahlborn – added 05.12.17
I know Ania’s writing is super popular, but I own one or two other titles by her and will try those first.
removeflower

Renegades by Marissa Meyer – added 05.12.17
I DNFed this last year, but I’m determined to try it again some time!
keepflower

The Passion of Dolssa by Julie Berry – added 05.13.17
I don’t actually know much about this book, but one of my best bookish friends (who I have super similar tastes to!) absolutely adores it, so I bet I will, too. ♥

    1. I’m pretty much super ready to dive into Renegades! But with its sequel coming out at the end of the year, I think I’m just going to put it off for a while so that I can binge read them both together XD

      1. That’s smart! I think it got extended into a trilogy, right? Or am I remembering wrong? I know it was originally marketed as a duology so I’m kind of hoping it’s still that, because I love duologies for some reason haha.

    1. I just picked up Renegades at Bookcon. I really hope it’s good because I want to read it before the second one comes out. I am sad to hear you ended up DNFing it. Hopefully next time you read it things work out better.

      1. Thanks love, I hope so, too! Maybe we can buddy read it if you want? That might motivate me to actually finish it lol! But I wouldn’t be able to until a little later this year, so if you don’t want to wait, I totally understand ♥

        1. I am totally down to read it later in the year. I was thinking that myself. I was thinking of picking it up closer to the release of the second book. So totally down for that.

Say hello! ♥
