August 4, 2018

Another month has passed, and it’s time for another haul post! This is the smallest book haul I have posted since I started blogging—way to go, me! I stuck to my ban so well this month and I’m really proud!

2. ARCs and/or trades
3. Pre-existing pre-orders
4. ALL OTHER PURCHASES: must be started within ONE WEEK of purchase!

      1. Thank you, Kaya! Haha aww, nothing wrong with that! ♥ I think my August haul may be a little smaller than this one, even though I did break my ban just a little bit for a small BookOutlet order. 😛

    1. ah ahahaha. Lets not talk about my book buying ban…
Song of the Dead! *.* And Slayer. And I’ll be interested in seeing what you will think of Darkfever. I’ve read about 6 books of that series now but I’m still so mixed on it haha.

      1. Bahahaha our poor bans… I did place an order for 7 books the other day, so I can’t say anything!
I’m super excited for all 3 of those! Darkfever is one that I’m a little bit nervous for, but ultimately eager to try.

    1. I need to do a haul post so I can shame myself!
I did get the Karen Monig book as my book friend said it was amazing….then I realised the series is 10 books long and I nearly cried!!!!

      1. Haha you totally should! And yeah, that series is wild… it’s like the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward – I finally caved and bought the ebook of book 1 earlier this year, but didn’t do so for the longest time because it’s up to something like 15-16 books?!

        1. I’ve read up to book 5 of BDB but haven’t picked up the next yet. I love them but the thought of trying to catch up is daunting!

          1. For sure! I get intimidated easily by big series, to be honest—or even when an author has a lot of series in the same universe. It’s why it took me so long to start Cassandra Clare’s and Rick Riordan’s books!

            1. Love Rick Riordan but I have books to catch up on in his various series too! Maybe I am a quitter and I need to resolve that ?

    1. I’ve been super proud of myself lately and haven’t been buying a lot of books! (That said, I just bought one today on my lunch break…WHOOPS!) But hey, you’ve been doing a great job of sticking to the ban!!

    1. I was very good for a few months, but in the past few weeks I bought a lot of books. A lot of which I read e-books of and loved and some that people recommended to me several times.

    1. Omg so many books!! ? I did! I didn’t buy or get many at all, I’ve been trying to control myself but I did get spinning silver too ?

    1. I wasn’t even on a ban last month and I only got four books; two from a used bookstore, one of which I had already read, an unsolicited review copy, and then ONE digital arc I actually requested. it was very weird.

    1. Omg this small haul contains more books than I even own haha. Looks amazing and I hope you enjoy your reads!!!

    1. Way to go on your willpower! I still need to learn how to show restraint, haha. Though I do like your note about unsolicited review copies – it makes me feel better since most weeks the books that come my way are not requested so I can’t be blamed either, lol! Anyway, I started The Book of Hidden Things the other day, and I’m loving it! I’m only about 50 pages in but so far, it’s really sucking me in. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

      1. Thank you haha! See, there you go! 😉 We can’t possibly be blamed for the ones we didn’t even ASK for…
That is super exciting about The Book of Hidden Things! I was a little uncertain about it but something just kind of drew me to it when they offered, so I figured I’d give it a try, but I haven’t heard anything at all about it! Can’t wait to read your review when you finish it!

    1. Wow this is such an awesome haul, also for me that would be a massive haul haha. You’ve got some amazing books to read next, especially all of those ARCs, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Opposite of Always, We Set The Dark on Fire and I Do Not Trust You 😀 Happy reading! 🙂

    1. oh my god, I want to read Slayer so bad!!! I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer – i’ve watched the seasons through with my family so many times. I am literally jumping up and down with excitement!! Have you watched the show?

      1. I hope it’s going to do the show justice since Kiersten White is such a big fan! 🙂 And yes, my aunt and I actually used to make sure every single week, we were sitting on the couch ready for the new episode! I was obsessed for the longest time and even rewatched a few seasons in my late teens, but I want to rewatch the whole thing soon!

    1. Neverworld Wake is amazing. It is set in the most intriguing world. I must get on board with Naiomi Novik as I love fairytales. Lovely haul.

    1. I stuck to my book ban haha. (But I bought four ebooks this week to make up for it! They were on sale! I just had to buy them!) Your physical book haul looks grand. I really want to buy a physical copy of Spinning Silver because the cover is stunning.

      1. Way to go! Haha sale ebooks don’t count, if you ask me—how can you pass up paying $2 for a book you would’ve spent $10-20 on further down the road, right? 🙂 And thank you! Yes, I love the cover for Spinning Silver!

    1. This is a small haul?! For me, this haul is three months worth of books ? I’m not on a buying ban but more of a buy when necessary. I’m trying to have a theme or a book from each genre for my monthly TBR’s so I don’t end up have my bookcase swimming with books that have never been read. It’s doing wonders for my bank account, though ?

      1. Oh I bet it is helping your bank account, book bans are so good for saving money!! I honestly felt so much less guilty this month since I paid for practically none of these—it was nice not to look at my bank statement and see a bunch of bookish charges, lol!

        1. I think I’m going to be on a book ban forever at this rate ? haha, bet it was, it’s an extremely impressive haul!

Say hello! ♥
