The End of the Year Book Tag: 2018 Edition!

November 22, 2018

I did this tag last year and had a lot of fun with it, so I thought it would be fun to bring it back around for 2018!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I actually have a few books that I still need to finish! None of them are priorities for the end of this year, but I might try to wrap them up early in 2019:

  • Strange the Dreamer
  • The Song of Achilles
  • City of Heavenly Fire
  • Shatter Me
  • Ash Princess
  • We Have Always Lived in the Castle
  • The Girl From the Well
  • Pet Sematary
  • In Other Lands

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

Last year, I assumed this meant a book I planned on reading to transition into winter, so I’m gonna go with that for this year, too. I’m actually reading one right now that is a Christmas horror anthology, and it’s getting me in the spirit pretty well!

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

There are actually only two 2018 releases left on my radar, and I have ARCs of both of them: Kingdom of Needle and Bone by Mira Grant, and The Sorrows by Jonathan Janz!

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Oooh, this is such a good question. Okay, I’m gonna go with three of my most anticipated January ARCs: In An Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire, The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi, and Song of the Dead by Sarah Glenn Marsh.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I honestly think it’s entirely plausible that any of the five above mentioned books could be my fave of the year, but I don’t really expect anything to unseat my current fave of the year—which I won’t tell you, because I have a favorites list coming soon!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

    1. Thanks for the tag, love! You honestly tag me for such fun ones! Can’t wait to answer these questions! I also started Ash Princess earlier this year (aka, I read the first chapter or two lol) and need to finish it relatively soon! ?

    1. Great tag! I have tours and releases booked for March already. January is pretty full too and February is getting there.

    1. oooh i’m excited for your favorites list. hope you have an excellent end of the reading year!!

    1. Gaah, The Gilded Wolves!
I really need to figure out when I’m reading my ARC’s because I went from 3 to 1 to 7 in about a week’s time and oops? I am SO CURIOUS to see your 2019 reading goals! I’ve been setting up mine as well, but I still feel like changing them because.. I’m ridiculously unsure what’ll be manageable and all, haha. :’)

      1. Bahahaha :’) Only a few additions, though, that’s not too bad! You should definitely go easy on yourself with your goals! <3 I'm still narrowing mine down, I've had a word document that I've been throwing ideas on as they come to me for the last few weeks so I'll probably try to finalize it all in the next couple of weeks and make the post maybe mid-December.

        1. You do realize I’ve never gone over 10 unread ARC’s on NG, right? :’) And I’m at 9 right now.. Somehow I got approved for one I didn’t think I’d get approved for AND then I got a mail with a widget to read the new novel of an author I reviewed in the past. Couldn’t say nooooo. :’)
I think my post will be up this week. I simply keep changing them depending on my mood and I’m sick of fighting myself on it. It’s not like I’ll magically figure out what’s possible and what isn’t so.. yeah. :’)

      1. Any time, love, and thank you! <3 Ooooh, I'm totally down for it! I was planning on reading it one day this week, actually – would you be interested in starting it after we finish The Gilded Wolves?

Say hello! ♥
