WWW #2: December 05, 2018

December 5, 2018

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

wwwcr.jpg
www2cr.jpgMy goal for this week was to get down to 5 current reads. While I didn’t manage that, I definitely lowered my number from last week’s post!

  1. The Faithful — 46%
  2. Kingdom of Ash — 13%
  3. The Shadow of What Was Lost — 10%
  4. Dear Heartbreak — 8%
  5. Hark! The Herald Angels Scream — 40%
  6. The Truth About Forever — 16%
  7. NOS4A2 — 4%
  8. Kin — 18%

My “big” goal for this upcoming week is to finish almost everything but NOS4A2. Ambitious, I know! 😛 My slightly more “realistic” goal is to finish The Faithful, Dear Heartbreak, Hark! The Herald Angels Scream, The Truth About Forever, and Kin.

Even if I didn’t get as many of my pre-existing reads completed as I’d hoped to, I’m REALLY proud of my reading progress over the last week!
I finished:

  1. The Language of Thorns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  2. The Sorrows ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  3. Kingdom of Needle and Bone ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  4. The Battle of the Labyrinth ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  5. Goth ⭐⭐⭐
  6. The Gilded Wolves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  7. Merry Inkmas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  8. The Lights ⭐⭐⭐⭐

wwwrn
www2rn.jpgI have a few buddy and/or group reads I’m about to start (or running behind on…oops).
I also have another two books I’d like to start this week so I can finish them in time to count them for my fall TBR catch-up:

  1. Vengeful
  2. Snow in Love
  3. The Scorpio Races
  4. Children of the Dark

Have you read any of the titles I mentioned in this post, or are any on your TBR? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Some people think my “Finished reads” are insane, but they’re in for a surprise should they venture on your blog, haha!
Even though you haven’t finished as many of your current reads as you wanted, you definitely read a whole lot so yay to that! Now on to actually tackling those current reads instead of adding to them and you’re good. 😛
*Eagerly awaiting a Merry Inkmas review*

      1. Haha! I told you I was proud of myself this week! 😀 😀 I still gotta look at yours, I’ve done zero blog hopping so far this week and my inbox for blog updates has 95 unread posts just from this week that I’m holding on to so I can prioritize them while blog hopping (hopefully tomorrow :’D ).

        1. You should be!
Haha, I feel like I’m not following nearly as many blogs as I should? I don’t know. It’s like I’m way too picky about what blogs to follow or something. Not to mention all the blogs that’ve died a slow death these past couple of months. :’)
I should actually blog hop outside of the blogs I follow for once but I always feel like I get lost in the enormity of the book community if I do? xD

          1. Oof, yeah, quite a few of the blogs I follow have died lately, too. 🙁 I’m always so hesitant to unfollow dead blogs because sometimes it’s people who have gone on very long hiatuses and I know they *might* never come back, but if they do, I want to know? Sigh. 😛 But I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum, I am following waaaaay too much ? I think I’m about to clean out my subs again. I usually do a deep-cleaning once every 6 months or so.

            1. Well, when it comes to hiatuses I always check if they actually announced one – if on the blog or on their social media. If they have, they can stick around in my followed blogs but.. If they’ve simply disappeared? I’m pretty tempted to unfollow them. :’)
I unfollowed some blogs a couple of weeks ago that I started following when I just started out and I just don’t.. feel those blogs anymore, haha. It’s a weird thing to do because I once loved them and now it seems like I’ve outgrown them? SO WEIRD.

            1. It is a super weird feeling to feel like you’ve outgrown a blog, but I 100% know what you mean. While I don’t feel that way about too many blogs, I definitely feel that way about a LOT of booktubers. I follow almost no channels that I started out following. :’)

            1. I’m not that big on booktube anyway, haha. The only one I sometimes check out is Book Roast and that’s more for the magical readathons than anything else really. :’)

    1. Your last WWW post and this one have shocked me because I’m terrible at reading multiple books at the same time and I don’t know how you manage. It’s amazing and I wish I could do it!
I’m glad you enjoyed Kingdom of Needle and Bone! I can’t wait to read another Mira Grant book, since I loved Into the Dorwning Deep, which I read recently. Good luck with all your goals! ?

      1. Haha thank you! I really do want to prioritize reading fewer books at a time because even though I’m able to do it without losing track of what I’m reading, it makes me take a much longer time to finish some of my reads and it also makes me much more likely to DNF books for some reason! I’m not sure why, but I’ve noticed a trend and I want to stop, lol!
It was soooo good! I still need to read Drowning Deep. Thank you!

    1. I am currently reading Merry Inkmas and I’m loving it. I’m almost halfway through it and I only started it last night. I will most likely be finishing it today.

    1. This is the second time I have seen a great review for Merry Inkmas… now my December pile is growing more!
Awesome goals though. I had to cut down on my simultaneous reads because I’m traveling and books are heavy lol.

    1. I enjoyed the Scorpio Races. I thought it was something different. I also just bought Merry Inkmas. I may have to read that one soon.
I usually only have 3 books going at once (audiobook, print, and ebook). I don’t think I could manage any more than that. That’s amazing.

      1. I ended up picking up the audiobook for Scorpio Races today and am really enjoying it so far! It’s such an intriguing story and Maggie’s writing style is as gorgeous as ever. I hope you get the chance to read Merry Inkmas soon, it’s a very quick read and so precious and perfect for the season! 🙂

      1. It has been a BLAST so far! Some of the stories have been super creepy while others have been weirdly hilarious? I honestly will be shocked if I don’t give it at least 4 stars by the time it’s over.

Say hello! ♥
