a week in the life of…

This was a good but busy week! My library’s collection has been in need of weeding (that’s when we pull worn-out or unloved books from the shelves and set them aside to sell) before we move to our new location this summer, so every day this week was practically nonstop weeding. It’s been really fun and rewarding, though, because as sad as it is to see those books go, it’s really nice to know that those empty spaces on the shelves will soon be filled with newer, more exciting, and more diverse releases for our kids and teens!

      1. Sorry for the late reply! I’m going through and catching up on 3 weeks of comments now haha. Oops. I would actually love to and considered doing just that, but I’m not sure if I *can* because weeding tends to be a touchy topic for a lot of libraries. Many of our patrons get upset over the concept because they think we should just hold on to books until they turn to dust! ? I’ll see if I can, and if so, I definitely will!

    1. lollll the cartoon is adorable. I love those so much. I’m interested to see what you thought about Aurora Rising! I’ve seen so many people start reading but haven’t seen a review yet.

      1. Haha isn’t it cute?!?! And Aurora Rising was honestly my best read of 2019 so far, and anything else will be hard-pressed to beat it. It was AMAZING. I really want to review it this coming week but the publishers asked reviewers to wait until 2wks before its release. I think I’m going to email the publicist and ask if I could possibly go any earlier than that ?

    1. It might have been a busy week, but it must have been so rewarding too. I mean, not only there will be space for new books, but those worn-out books will find a new home where, hopefully, they will keep being cherished. 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new books. The Kingdom seems quite interesting.
      Happy readings! 😉

      1. Thank you so much! 🙂 Yes, that’s definitely the goal – we’ve already been lucky to rehome a lot of the books and it’s been a good feeling to see them go to places where they’ll get the love they deserve, haha.

Say hello! ♥
