July Haul: So much for that ARC ban…

July 29, 2019

As usual, click the titles for GR links~ ♥

For the last few months, I’ve been splitting my physical & digital hauls so I could give you more info on the books I’m hauling, but since I started doing Stacking the Shelves posts again (which offer lots of detail on everything I haul!), there’s not much need for that, so we’re bringing it back down to one short ‘n sweet post. If you’d like to view my Stacking the Shelves posts, they’re all right here!

In case you missed the memo, I put myself on an ARC ban in June, with few exceptions (poetry, graphic novels, manga, and one “freebie” request per week). I stuck to it pretty well for the most part, besides 2 things:

  1. I went a little overboard with Amazon Vine’s physical review copies… again.
  2. The last week of July sucked and I went wild and totally ditched my ban a little in the end.

    1. You didn’t just fall a little way, this is a mega descent. How many of them do you think you’ll actually read.

      1. Hey, this comment comes across very rude and judgmental. If that wasn’t your intent, please consider your comments more carefully in the future. If that was your intent, please leave.

        1. Please see my response on this. I see how my comment could be misinterpreted but it was never my intent to judge.

        1. I’m so sorry. It was meant to be a joke, but I didn’t realise it could come across as being critical.

      1. Haha, I loved them as a kid and it’s been so much fun rereading them! Of course they’re silly and over-the-top, but they’re so fast to read and it’s neat remembering how creepy some of them were back then. 🙂

        1. I really want to try one again but two things are making me wonder if I should:
          1. I really don’t get on with/read YA
          2. I don’t want it to spoil my memories.
Then again … Night of the Living Dummy series iscalling my name.

    1. I just finished Mooncakes it was good. And now i am really curious about unicorn magic ( i mean i hope the author doesn’t giveaway too many of our secrets).

    1. What a great haul–there’s so many wonderful books! I loved Love In Focus its a lovely slice of life/contemporary romance manga! I highly recommend it!! ^_^

    1. Witchy looks so interesting! And yeah you got a few books this month but I know you’ve read some of them too so don’t bother feeling too stressed about it!

    1. You have picked up some stunning books. I love your haul!!!!
I picked up a few i’m really excited for including Three Days Till Dawn by R.F Hurteau and Fortuna Sworn by K.J. Sutton.
      Happy Reading 🙂

    1. Michigan vs Boys, now that sounds interesting. Never thought I’m gonna be interested in books about hockey, but then i read Beartown and it was awesome too, so i guess i just opened up nee avenues ?

      1. Haha I feel you! I’m not big on most sports-related books at all tbh. I think Kayla from Books and Lala actually compared Michigan vs. Boys to Beartown in one of her videos a little while ago!

    1. Mooncakes was super cute. You’ll like that one! And hey, we all fall down those bans sometimes. I was not going to request too many e arcs the rest of the year. Guess who got a bunch of e arcs?

    1. Welcome to Dead House is, and always has been, my favourite Goosebumps books. To the point where I kinda try to find it at every secondhand bookshop I go to…

Say hello! ♥
