Tag Time: 2022 Quarter Year Crisis book tag!

April 19, 2022

It’s time for the 2022 Quarter Year Crisis tag!

I’ve been seeing this tag everywhere lately, and I really love it so I had to jump in on it before it’s too late in the year! Thank you to Roisin @ Roisin’s Reading for creating this tag! ♥

1. How many books have you read so far?

49! My goal for the year is 200 and I’m currently 9 books behind schedule.

2. Have you already found a book you think might be a 2022 favorite?

I’ve had a few that I think could make the list at the end of the year, but the top one has been The House in the Cerulean Sea!

3. If not, what was your favorite book you read that wasn’t quite five star?

This question made me realize I haven’t had very many 4 or 4.5-star reads this year! I guess my “favorite but not quite 5 stars” read so far has been Weather Girl, though.

4. Any 1 star books / least favorite book of the year?

I’ve DNFed a few books that I really disliked, but I’ll go with one I finished and really hated: The Bone Cutters. It was badly written, the characters were awful, and it was one of the most fatphobic books I’ve ever read.

5. Most read genre so far?

According to my genre tracker chart in my reading spreadsheet, 33.9% of my reads have been horror and another 33.9% have been romance. So, horror and romance are tied for my most read genres right now!

6. A book that surprised you?

I feel like, every time I get a question like this in a tag, I feel so bad because I never have a positive answer… 😅 but I was very unpleasantly surprised by The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, which I thought I would love but I wasn’t a big fan of at all.

7. Book that’s come out in 2022 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

Sundial! I was supposed to start a buddy read of this a couple of weeks ago, but life kind of got in the way. I’m hoping to read it soon, especially since I liked The Last House On Needless Street so much!

8. One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?

My TBR jar goal! I had a goal to pull 3 books from my TBR jar each month and read them, and I’ve done really well with it so far.

9. One goal you made you need to focus on?

My 2022 TBR. I picked 22 books for it and was hoping to read 2 a month, but I’m pretty far behind right now!

10. New to you bloggers/booktubers/bookstagrammer/booktokers for 2022 you recommend?

I’m ashamed to say that I have NOT been branching out and finding new bloggers or booktubers lately, and I haven’t been on tiktok in ages, but I do have some new-to-me bookstagrams to recommend:

    1. Wasn’t this tag so much fun?! I am so glad that House in the Cerulean Sea is one of your faves so far! It’s such an amazing book!! <3

        1. Haha!! I remember reading it last year and sobbing!! Still one I recommend all the time!

    1. I still need to read Cerulean Sea! Maybe this year I finally will. Glad the TBR jar is working well! I think my mood reading would get in the way of that, but I have, surprisingly, managed to read a lot of the 2022 releases I had on my sorta TBR.

    1. Every year there are tags with the questions with the new blogs found and every year I draw a blank haha.
Sounds like you are doing great this year.

      1. Haha I’m so glad I’m not alone! I have no concept of time when it comes to how long I’ve known people. There are some people I think I have only known a year or two, and then realize I’ve known them since 2016 – and then there are some people it feels like I’ve known forever, and realize I’ve only known them a year or two. 😂

    1. I love the simplicity of this tag! I’ll have to do it. Also 49 BOOKS?! I have read 6 I am jealous lol I haven’t even finished anything in the month of April so far

    1. Yay for The House in the Cerulean Sea! It was my fave read the year it came out and one that still gives me warm fuzzy feelings whenever I think about how lovely and wholesome it is 🥰 Rachel Lynn Solomon is an author that I’m really hoping to get to this year—I’ve got Weather Girl and one of her YA books on my TBR already and I can’t wait to read them. I hope you continue to enjoy all your 2022 reads, Destiny! 💜

      1. The House in the Cerulean Sea was so precious! 🥰 I’m so glad you loved it, too. I really want to read more by Rachel Lynn Solomon! Weather Girl was my first of hers! I hope you like her books when you get the chance ♥ and thank you!

    1. Glad to see you enjoyed The House in the Cerulean Sea so much!!!! ❤️ It’s a really beautiful book & I hope the next few months you come across some amazing reads! 😍✨

    1. I’m very late to this, but I love the tag! 😄 I’ll be doing it as well (hopefully next week) as I love the questions so much 💕 100% agree on The House in the Cerulean Sea, I read it last year and it became an instant favorite 🥰

Say hello! ♥
