It’s time for a weekly check-in!
Ughhh, such a slow reading month! I can’t remember the last time I had this slow of a reading month, and I don’t even feel like I’ve been slumping – I think it’s just been a mix of being really busy and mental health struggles. That said, I’m definitely finishing this post up at 5:30am because I’ve been up all night listening to Empire of the Vampire, so… 😅
I can’t believe this reading update covers TWO weeks of reading and this is all I have to show for it: a DNF title, a novella, one novel, and a re-read. 😭 I really need my reading speed to pick up, please!
- Cinema Viscera // Sam Richard → ❌ DNF ❌
- The Only Safe Place Left is the Dark // Warren Wagner → ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Belladonna // Adalyn Grace → ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Gallant // V.E. Schwab → ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (re-read)

I have a couple of audiobooks on the go right now that I think I can finish pretty quickly if I can just find the time to sit down and focus on them. I’d really like to knock all of these out and start some new books! Maybe I’ll try to dedicate a good bit of time to sprinting this weekend!
- The Shadow of What Was Lost // James Islington → 54%
- Dead Letters: Episodes of Epistolary Horror // Jacob Steven Mohr → 58%
- Slaying the Vampire Conqueror // Carissa Broadbent → 36%
- Bewitched // Laura Thalassa → 70%
- That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon // Kimberly Lemming → 15%
- This Cursed Light // Emily Thiede → 10%
- Empire of the Vampire // Jay Kristoff → 76%
- Broken Bonds // J. Bree → 33%
I’m fully back into my cozy/chill gaming, so I bought Sweet Bakery Tycoon on my Switch last night (it’s on sale for $2!) and played it for a while. It’s fun! I love little restaurant management sims like this. They’re great for audiobooks!
What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!
