It’s time for a biweekly check-in!
I’ve made these into posts that only go up once every two weeks, and yet I still was late posting this one. Whoops! 😅 July has been a doozy of a month.
On the 4th, I somehow broke a back molar at the jawline and landed myself in absolute agony for over a week until a dentist could get me in (they have no idea why it broke, and they didn’t think it was really salvageable). I dunno how many of you have been through adult molar extractions and/or jawbone grafts, but WOW, that sucked. 🥲
Then, as soon as my tooth started feeling better, Echo was playing and accidentally scratched my eye, leaving me mostly unable to function due to pain and blurred vision for a few days.
And THEN, last night I was finishing up my site migration from my old host to my new one (I wasn’t happy with Bluehost, so when my sub was almost up, I switched to Dreamhost on a friend’s recommendation) and almost accidentally deleted 7 years of blog posts!
… so, you can see why this post is late. 🥲
I’ve finally been getting back into reading every day! I think I’ve only missed reading one day in July so far, and I’ve finished a few things over the past two weeks:
- Whalefall by Daniel Kraus ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Beast of Burden by Judith Sonnet ❌ DNF ❌
- Wrestling With Werewolves by Hazel Mack ⭐⭐💫
- Give Unto Us by Justin Lutz ⭐⭐⭐💫
- You Like it Darker by Stephen King ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- How to Make a Horror Movie and Survive by Craig DiLouie ⭐⭐⭐ DNF
📚 current reads 📚
I finished a few current reads and started a few more, so I’m only down to 14. 😂My goal was to get down to 6 or less by the end of July, and you know… I just don’t think that’s going to happen, lol. But it’s okay, because I’m enjoying what I’m reading right now and that’s what matters most!

I am ridiculously obsessed with Palia. 😂 I don’t remember the last time I was this addicted to a game! Steam says I’ve already logged about 100 hours and I’ve only been playing it for just over 2 weeks. That is a LOT of gaming time for me, but I haven’t been able to pull myself away. In fact, I’m going to load it up for a few minutes before bed as soon as I finish scheduling this post!
What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!
