December TBR: can I start 2022 with a clean slate?

December 3, 2021

Another month, another TBR ~

How on earth is it already December? I know I say this all the time, but the speed at which this year has gone by is leaving me with legitimate mental and emotional whiplash.

My goals for December are pretty loose:

  1. Finish all of my current reads before the new year (I haven’t started a new year with a clean slate in ages!)
  2. Read some Christmas books! 🎄🎅

current reads (leftovers):

Last month, this is where I put the rolled-over, not-yet-started TBR picks from the month prior, and I might pick that back up in 2022… but since my goals for December are just the two I mentioned above, this month, I’m only worried about the books I’m actually currently reading.

🎄 The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
🎄 Come With Me by Ronald Malfi
🎄 Ghost Girl by Ally Malinenko
🎄 Peel Back and See by Mike Thorn
🎄 A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (re-read)
🎄 Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones
🎄 For the Wolf by Hannah F. Whitten

december’s (tentative) picks:

And here are the books I’m adding to my TBR for the month! These are all the Christmas horror and romance books that I own, or can borrow from KU, that seemed the most interesting right now. They’re all very short, so I don’t think I’ll have a problem getting through the list!

🎄 If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread // Jana Aston
A cheesy, cute Christmas rom-com novella (78pg)

🎄 Mangos and Mistletoe // Adriana Herrera
A sapphic holiday romance between two bakers (152pg)

🎄 Peppermint Kiss // Marian Snowe
A sapphic second chance romance (84pg)

🎄 Secret Santa // Andrew Shaffer
I meant to read this Christmas horror-comedy last year but didn’t get to it, so I definitely want to this year! (220pg)

🎄 A Krampus Carol // ed. Cynthia & Gerardo Pelayo
Give me aaaaall the holiday horror, please (205pg)

🎄 The Visitor // Sergio Gomez
A horror novella featuring a bunch of strangers trapped with a killer on Christmas (72pg)

🎄 Sugar and Spice // Eli Wray
I definitely don’t have enough nonbinary rep in my romance life, and this seems like a cute fluffy addition (44pg)

What are you reading this month?
