February TBR: attempt #2 at my 2023 “clean slate” goals!

February 1, 2023

Another month, another TBR ~

January flew by but also lasted a million years because it was such a chaotic month for me, between our weekend cross-country trip a few weeks ago, working on home renovations, and LOTS of family day trips during my spouse’s two-week staycation. I feel like I did SO MUCH and yet accomplished very few of my goals for the month, but I’m hoping February will be a little bit calmer and I can get back on schedule a bit.

January goal check-in:

  1. Read every day ❌ (almost, but I did miss a day when we went to NY!)
  2. Clear my RTC shelf ❌
  3. Finish all of my “2022 leftovers” ❌

My goals for February are:

I’m just repeating the same goals since I didn’t accomplish any of them 😅

  1. Read every day
  2. Clear my RTC shelf
  3. Finish all of my “2022 leftovers” I’m still reading!

february’s picks:

I loved having such a short TBR list for January and mostly focusing on mood reading, so let’s do the same thing for February!

💖 Legendborn // Tracy Deonn → This is the February Books Out of the Blue group read!

💖 Throne of Glass // Sarah J. Maas → Continuing my series re-read with Misty & Terry!

💖 Godkiller // Hannah Kaner → Bought this purely based on the cover and ✨vibes✨ and I have no regrets. Buddy reading this with Malli, Jamie, and Ash!

💖 Shatter Me // Tahereh Mafi → A Goodreads group I’m in called Dust Those Shelves (hosted by Fyre.Katz) is starting a series read in February and I’m gonna try to finally read this series!

What are you reading this month?

    1. Only One day missed in the whole month is pretty good ! Good luck to accomplish them all this month xx

    1. I’m excited for Legendborn! It’s been on my tbr for a while now. I know I’m definitely going to read Godkiller, I just don’t know when 😂

      1. I’m excited, too! I haven’t started it yet but hopefully I’ll get the chance this week – I’m so behind on the group reads, lol! I hope you get to check out Godkiller soon! I’ve only read the first few chapters but I’m really intrigued so far. 👀

    1. It’s so hard to focus on everything, right? I find that putting energy into one thing, like family, makes other things suffer a bit. Such is life I guess! Hope you have a good February😁

      1. It definitely is! I heard an analogy once that it’s like juggling, but you have to remember that some of the balls are plastic and won’t break if you drop them, so it’s okay. 😂 I really liked that analogy and keep it in mind a lot when I feel like I’m “dropping the ball” on stuff. February has been very busy, but lovely! I hope yours has been well! ♥

    1. Only missed one day of reading?! That’s awesome! Legendborn has been on my TBR for a while. I’ve heard good things about it! I hope you enjoy 🙂 I still need to read the full ToG series. I’ve only ever read the first lol Happy reading!

    1. I’m pretty sure I own the first 3 books of Shatter me and haven’t read any of them. I’m looking forward to continuing our buddy read of Throne of Glass!!

      1. I own the first 3 novels plus a couple of the novellas, and have tried reading the first book twice now but got in a slump (unrelated to Shatter Me thankfully lol) both times. Just bad timing, I think, but I was enjoying the story so far!

    1. I’ve been wanting to read the Shatter Me series for a while now. Hopefully I can find the books second hand somewhere. Happy reading!

    1. I’m reading Scarlett Fever by Claire Highton-Stevenson (les fic author, she’s fabulous!), The Credit Game by Chevon B. Patrick, and Jim Henson: The Biography.

      1. Thank you! I’ve only read the first few chapters of Godkiller so far but it starts off really intriguing and strong, especially if you like deities as characters in general! It’s so interesting because (not a spoiler, don’t worry!) the gods are kind of painted as the villains in this scenario, instead of the typical good guys or neutral characters? 👀 So fascinating!

Say hello! ♥
