Let’s talk about my June goals!
I usually just post a monthly TBR, but in honor of branching out a little with my blog content, I thought it would be fun to make a more general “goals” post each month that discusses my TBR, other media goals, and life goals for the month ahead.
📚 bookish GOALS 📚
I told myself I was going to make very limited goals for the month of June, yet somehow, I still ended up with a TBR of 8 books and big hopes of catching up on some review copies. 😅 I’m really excited, though, especially because this month includes reading the new releases in THREE different romance series I love!
May goal check-in:
- catch up on at least half of my unwritten reviews ❌
- finish setting up my new “fun” journal spreads ❌
- start/read at least 25% of every book on my May TBR ❌
My bookish goals for June are:
- Post to IG 4+ times per week
- Post to my blog 3+ times per week
- Write 25 mini reviews (because catching up on half of my RTC shelf in one month clearly is not happening)
- Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes: BOTM pick for my Discord server
- Do Your Worst by Rosie Danan: bonus BOTM pick for my Discord server
- Wrestling with Werewolves by Hazel Mack: buddy read with Malli & Misty
- Earthlings by Sayaka Murata: Dead Readers Society group read
- The Narrow by Kate Alice Marshall: TBR & Beyond horror BOTM
- Bespelled by Laura Thalassa: buddy read with Misty
- Leather & Lark by Brynne Weaver: buddy read with Misty
- Your Coffin or Mine by Jaclyn Hyde: buddy read with Misty & Malli
🍿 other media goals 🎮
I’ve been trying to get back into gaming more often, and I’d love to start watching movies more regularly again! I miss both of those hobbies and never devote much time to either of them anymore. This month, I want to…
- Get KK to play a concert at my new ACNH island (I moved in my 10th villager today, so I’m getting there!)
- Re-install The Sims 4 and spend some time on it
- Pick a random unplayed game in my Steam library to try out
- Watch one movie per week (even if it’s a re-watch!)
- Write a non-bookish media review/recap post at the end of the month!
💪 “real life” goals 👪
I’m not totally convinced about this section because I don’t know if it will interest anyone, but I thought it might be fun to peel back the curtain a little and talk more about my “real life” on this blog moving forward. I’ve always been fairly private about most of my daily life in the book community, but lately, I’ve been showing more of it on my Instagram and it’s led to some deeper friendships and connections with people, so I thought it would be nice to try that here, too. 😊
- Go to the gym 4 times per week (I got a new membership to get back into strength training and have been enjoying it!)
- Cut back on sodas (I’ve become re-addicted to diet Pepsi lol)
- Work an average of 30 hours per week (I make my own schedule and my requirement is only 15/wk, but I want to pay off some things!)
- Try out digital journaling/planning for the whole month (I’ve been in a real rut with my bujo and Happy Planner lately, so I want to try something new!)
What are you looking forward to this month?

June 4, 2024Honestly I will read anything you write about and I love getting to know you more beyond books. Instead of calling it a TBR maybe it would help to call it hopefuls instead?? I’m looking forward to all of our buddy reads this month!!

June 5, 2024Good luck with your goals! ❤️ I read Do Your Worst already and it was so much fun, I hope you enjoy it as well! I’m still waiting on my library hold for Ghost Station, I’m so excited to read it ?

June 5, 2024I really like this format of post! I know this is a community of book blogs but I do love to read posts about things other than just books ? Your TBR for the month looks fun, I read Convenience Store Woman a couple months back and enjoyed it so I’ve been meaning to follow on with Earthlings.
I love digital journalling, I started in December last year and so far I’ve found it much easier to keep up with than any physical journal I’ve had in the past. I use the Noteful app on my iPad with a planner from Happy Downloads ? Best of luck with everything in June! ?

June 8, 2024I love these new inclusions (and personally, totally game (heh) to read more about gaming *and* any personal stuff). I also adore the new look. Good luck with your goals this month!
