November ’17 Haul

November 29, 2017

Since last month’s posts required me to split my October haul into two separate blog entries, I decided, starting now, I’ll be separating my haul and wrap-up posts! So, today I’ll share my November haul with you, and tomorrow, my November wrap-up!

I put myself back on a book ban this month (though I broke it to place a Black Friday sale order from BookOutlet, but that won’t be here until December), so this haul is substantially smaller than September’s and October’s hauls were! I’ve also put myself on a semi-ban from ARCs, so I now only request ARCs after asking myself, “Would I pre-order this?” (If the answer is no, I leave it be.)

eARCs:

Robots vs. Fairies – anthology – releases 01.09.18
This is an anthology of stories that alternate between if fairies ruled the world, and if robots ruled the world, essentially. It is absolutely delightful and I am HANDS DOWN rooting for fairies! *currently reading*

Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi – releases 03.06.18
A high fantasy story about a young woman who’s been tasked with bringing magic back into the world and reclaiming her home. I feel so privileged to have been granted my “wish” for this title on NetGalley!

White Rabbit – Caleb Roehrig – releases 04.24.18
An own-voice LGBTQ+ thriller in which the main character must enlist his ex-boyfriend’s help to clear his sister’s name in a murder mystery.

Three Sides of a Heart – anthology – releases 12.19.17
A collection of short stories about love triangles. I was supremely not interested in this until I saw some of the names involved, and learned that is some great diverse rep in this collection. *December TBR*

How was your November haul? Were you on a book ban, or did you add lots of new titles to your shelves?

    1. I also got Bird Box this month!! I hope you love The Girl Who Drank The Moon, it’s such a lovely book!

      1. Yesss, I feel so privileged to have gotten the signed copy. <3 Marie is so wonderful. And yeah, Renegades is freaking ginormous lmao! I was shocked when it arrived and I felt how heavy it was!

    1. I was going to buy less books and I did. I bought only 3 but then I got gifts and won some books and got some e arcs… You know how it goes, haha.
I’m curious to see what you will think of Hex. He’s a Dutch author so…
And I really enjoyed The Lies of Locke Lamora though it took some getting used to how the book was written. 🙂

      1. Bahaha, I do know how it goes! You gotta love it lol. I am really excited to read Hex. I didn’t know he was Dutch, but that makes me even more excited! I’ve been trying to read more authors from other countries besides the US. Widen my horizons and all, you know. 🙂

      1. I really lucked up on that one! She only had something like 20 or 30 copies to give away and it was first-come-first-serve, and most of them were ARCs. I was actually shocked that I got in there fast enough to get a hardback, but I am so grateful to her for it. <3

    1. I love your approach to ARCs! I have been much more strict on what I request because when I first started blogging, I had no self-control on Netgalley. I was accepted for an ARC of Reign of the Fallen and I’m so stinking excited for it! I can barely contain myself. Great haul! Hope you enjoy all of the books.:)

      1. Thanks! I had to learn how to tighten up for the same reason. I have so many backlogged titles on NetGalley from where I went nuts requesting them when I first started out. And congrats on Reign! It looks soooo good! Happy reading <3

    1. I’m so damn excited to see what you think of Atheists Who Kneel and Pray! I actually JUST bought a physical copy, because I know it’s going on my “top 17 of 2017” list… and like… I need a picture, obv! (AKA: I’m a hot mess) BUT amazing haul! And I can’t wait to read some of those ARCs with you! <3

    1. Such an awesome bookhaul!!! And whoa, renegades is thick!!?
Reign of the Fallen looks so incredibly awesome!
My lady Jane and the Glass Spare are on my Christmas wishlist.
the Madeleine Roux books have been on my wishlist since Halloween last year,
still haven’t gotten around to buy them yet, but I hear great things about the asylum books!
      Enjoy your new beauties <3

      1. Thank you! Yeah, Renegades is freaking huge! And heavy! But it reads really fast – to me, anyways! I know some people on Goodreads have said it’s slow and boring for them. I haven’t had almost ANY reading time lately, though, so I’m not far into it yet. 🙁 I hope you get your wishlist books! <3

    1. I also got an ARC of Children of Blood and Bone from Netgalley! I am so jealous of your ARC for Reign of the Fallen! I got denied by Penguin’s First to Read program 🙁

    1. I got ARCs of Reign of the Fallen, White Rabbit, and Children of Blood & Bone too, I’m so excited for all of them! Hopefully I have time to read them soon. Great haul!

      1. Ooooh, yay! I hope you love it! I really enjoyed it so much. I read it as an eARC over the summer and then was totally freaking out when I got the copy from the author. <3 She is so sweet.

    1. EPIC book haul Destiny! I feel like we may be in the same boat this month haha! my Bookoutle order is set to arrive on 12/5 which would’ve made my haul post even more ridic lol. I also started this month by splitting my haul from wrap-up cause length. Tarryn Fisher is on my list of authors to check out & I’m so happy you were granted your wish for Children of Blood and Bone! *excited emoji* I have a feeling it will be one of my fave reads of 2018, happy reading Destiny 🙂

      1. Thank you so much! Hahah ooooh, yay for BookOutlet orders! Mine doesn’t have an estimated delivery date – probably because USPS in my region has been RIDICULOUS lately, lmao. I hope it gets here soon, though! I’m crossing my fingers for early next week. Ooooh, I hope we both love Tarryn’s writing – and Children of Blood and Bone! ?

Say hello! ♥
