T10T: Summer TBR

June 25, 2019

TTT-Big2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Every season, I dedicate one T10T post to that season’s TBR.
Since summer started last week, it’s time to look back on my spring TBR and let you know which 10 books I specifically want to read over the next few months!

While you’re here, you can also check out the summer TBR jar I posted yesterday!

Spring TBR: 60% success!

  1. Girls on the Verge ✅
  2. In the Neighborhood of True ✅
    • (DNF)
  3. The Raven’s Tale ✅
    • (set aside for now)
  4. The Bride Test ✅
  5. Hope and Other Punchlines ✅
    • (in progress)
  6. That Kind of Guy ✅
  7. On the Come Up ❌
  8. The Priory of the Orange Tree ❌
  9. A Thousand Perfect Notes ❌
  10. A Heart in a Body in the World ❌

1

? Growing Things & Other Stories — Paul Tremblay
adult horror anthology; releases july 2nd

Knowing Paul’s writing, this should be a really exciting and twist-y collection of shorts!

? Changeling — William Ritter
MG dark fantasy; releases july 16th

The author of Jackaby is kicking off this exciting MG dark fantasy series, and I’ve always loved anything involving changelings!

? The Gossamer Mage — Julie E. Czerneda
adult fantasy; releases august 6th

In a world where mages trade years off their lives for power from the goddess of Death, the most powerful mage sets out on a mission to kill Her.

Darkdawn — Jay Kristoff
adult fantasy; releases september 3rd

The undoubtedly epic finale to the Nevernight Chronicle series. My heart. ?

? The Girl the Sea Gave Back — Adrienne Young
YA historical fantasy; releases september 3rd

Set in the same world as Sky in the Deep, this one follows Tova, a ‘Truthtongue’ who can see the future.
2

? Fence, Vol. 3 — C.S. Pacat
YA/NA contemporary graphic novel; releases august 20th

I’ve so thoroughly enjoyed this graphic novel series and I’m dying to get the next volume! I know I could read the single issues but I prefer having full volumes.

3

? Wolfsong — T.J. Klune
NA paranormal romance

I love a good werewolf story, but it’s been a really long time since I read one that featured m/m rep, and I had so much fun with the last T.J. Klune read of mine!

?‍♀️ Rolling in the Deep — Mira Grant
adult horror novella

I’m downright mad at myself that I still haven’t read this, and summer time seems perfect for it, plus it’d give me the perfect opportunity to put Into the Drowning Deep on my fall TBR!

? Summer Days and Summer Nights — Stephanie Perkins
YA contemporary anthology

I bought this months ago and have been saving it for summer!

4

Dreamland — Sarah Dessen
YA contemporary

Summertime is always the best time (though there’s no bad time) for Dessen rereads, and I think this is the only old title of hers that I’ve never reread before.

    1. Love your symbols and how you updated us on the previous list. That’s why I love reading these even when I’m not participating (I just published another author interview on my blog instead). You might want to take a look – Jane Davis is an amazing author!

    1. I still have fond thoughts of some of the stories in Summer Days and summer nights. I hope you like it!
Priory of the Orange Tree was on my spring TBR, and I wasn’t sure I was going to finish it in the spring, since it’s so long. I hope you like these!

    1. I hope you get to all of them. Enjoy your reading!

    1. ooh you will love Dreamland! it’s so much more than just a summer romance! i hope you really enjoy it – it’s one of my favourites

    1. You have some great books on here. Well done on completing 60% of your spring tbr. They don’t usually work out that well for me. Most of the time I only read one or two. They’re still fun to make though! I really want to read fence too but haven’t started it yet. Good luck on your summer tbr 🙂

    1. I ended up really liking C.G. Drew’s A Thousand Perfect Notes! It was a good contemporary read amongst all of my fantasy novels, and she has such a cool, unique writing style!

    1. Do you think you’ll go back to The Raven’s Tale sometime?
      My TTT.

    1. Woaah you got through a heck of a lot! This post is a great way to keep a track of your progress! I bet they’re great to look over at the end of the year? xo

    1. Great list! I need to read The Kiss Quotient before I can move on to The Bride Test. Hope you enjoy all of these!

    1. What a list! I just finished my Godsgrave reread to start DD on July 1st and I am not sure my heart can handle this…

    1. OH MY GOSH, I NEED TO GET TO The Nevernight Chronicle series. SOMEDAY. Soon, hopefully. Ahhh, I’m bummed to hear that In the Neighborhood of True was a DNF title.

    1. I agree you did do well with Spring TBR, 60% nice. But I missed why you didn’t finish On the Come Up & Priory of the Orange Tree! I’ve not read either but have added to my list.
      Best to your goals!
