The Weekly Wrap — April 8th, 2020

April 8, 2020

The Weekly Wrap is a new post I’ll be doing every week where we’ll talk about current reads, recently finished reads, what I’m listening to, games I’m playing, movies I’m watching, and general life stuff. ♥ If you’re a fan of my past WWW Wednesday & The Sunday Post updates, you’ll love this combination of the two!

✅ recently finished:

  1. Eat, and Love Yourself ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was so sweet and lovely and everything I hoped it would be.
  2. Karen’s Witch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
    SO CUTE.
  3. Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Caitlin Doughty is hilarious and this was incredibly informative and fun to read!
  4. Goosebumps: Download and Die! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I never thought I’d get to see a Goosebumps title featuring queer girls, but here we are. ♥
  5. They Call Us Enemy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I haven’t cried this hard over a book in years.
  6. How I Survived ⭐⭐
    Boring.
  7. 55 Slightly Sinister Stories ❌
DNF — there was nothing sinister or funny about this, despite it being marketed as dark humor.
  8. Happily Ever After & Everything in Between ⭐⭐⭐
Sweet, but ultimately “blah” and disappointing.
  9. Ghosted in LA, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
So diverse, so much fun, so cute.
  10. Something is Killing the Children, Vol. 1 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Creepy, beautiful, fun, and Erika Slaughter is my hero.
  11. Medicine Man ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I pulled an all-nighter and read this entire book in one go because it was so gorgeous and sweet, and I loved the depression rep so much.
  12. Camp Spirit ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Be still, my horror-loving 90s kid queer girl heart.
  13. The Red Pyramid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Whyyyy are more people not gushing about this series ALL THE TIME?! I loved this book so much!

    1. I hope you are enjoying Seven Deadly Shadows! I am so impressed that you are able to still get reading done, love. I need to play Animal Crossing again, I’ve been avoiding it because I know events are happening and I’ve missed things and now I am not wanting to freak out about a game so I’ll just watch everyone else lmao (but you should come to my island!)

    1. Great wrap up, Destiny!! <3 I feel exactly the same about The Red Pyramid. I really enjoyed that trilogy and am so surprised that it is hardly discussed. As far as Rick Riordan's work is concerned, I feel as though it's the least discussed! I have yet to play Animal Crossing, because I'm scared that I'll become addicted lol.

I hope you've been doing alright during this time of quarantine! <3
