The Weekly Wrap — April 22nd, 2020

April 22, 2020

The Weekly Wrap is a post every week where we’ll talk about current reads, recently finished reads, what I’m listening to, games I’m playing, movies I’m watching, and general life stuff. ♥ If you’re a fan of my past WWW Wednesday & The Sunday Post updates, you’ll love this combination of the two!

? current reads:

  • Seven Deadly Shadows (59%)
  • The Shadow of What was Lost (11%)
I restarted this a few days ago and started taking notes, and it seems to be helping!
  • Geekerella (44%)
I’m so torn on whether or not I even care enough to finish this… It’s not bad, I’m just bored.
  • Ghost Squad (13%)
  • The Bone Season (80%; reread)

  • The Unsuitable (32%)
  • Red Sister (17%)
I feel so bad about how far behind I fell on this buddy read. ?
  • The Throne of Fire (22%)
Another buddy read I fell terribly behind on. ?
  • A Thief in the Nude (15%)
  • Definitely Dead (5%)
On to #6 in the series! My library hold just came in for the ebook and I’m so happy. I read #5 in basically one sitting a few days ago and it was just the kind of comfort read I needed.

✅ recently finished:

  • The Bromance Book Club ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was so cute and sweet.
  • Dead as a Doornail ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Returning to this series was EXACTLY what I needed.
  • Guarding Temptation ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
PLEASE GO BUY THIS AND READ IT ASAP. Omg. So fluffy and soft and cute and PERFECT escapism. I already want to reread it. ??

? new review arrivals:

… sigh. One of the symptoms of my mental illness is to seek out retail therapy when I’m stressed, and when I can’t go shopping, I have a history of turning to NetGalley and Edelweiss to replace that feeling. That’s the only explanation I have for what happened this week.

???? non-bookish occupations:

Amazon.com: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch ...

More ACNH, forever.

WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY® on Steam

I started playing World of Final Fantasy this week and I AM OBSESSED. My son has started hogging the Switch a lot to play Animal Crossing (he’s shockingly good at it for a 3-year-old? wtf), so now I play this on my PC whenever I’m letting him play ACNH. ?‍♀️

life updates:

This was a really, really bad week for my mental health. My anxiety came back in full force and I nearly had a complete nervous breakdown yesterday. Right now, I’m just going to majorly prioritize self-care and try not to think about anything too much.
