up next

I’m still chipping away at my current reads, so I think that’s going to be my only big focus this week!

other obsessions

I mean, ACNH and Sea of Thieves will probably be here for the foreseeable future, so maybe I should just start leaving them out of this section. ? I also started watching a LOT of Twitch over the last week or so, mainly SmexiestChicken and BoxyFresh, because… well, I guess I’m just total Sea of Thieves trash after the last month or two of non-stop playing it.

life updates

This was a really nice week! I needed a good week like this. My sleep schedule is finally somewhat decent again, which has really made a world of difference in my mental health. I just hope the coming week is good, too! This post is a day late because I took yesterday off from the internet to just focus on family time and tons of cleaning, and now I just feel so productive and satisfied. ?

I also put strict locks back on my phone, iPad, and computer so that I’m only allowed a cumulative total of 10 minutes per day on Twitter, and holy shit, y’all… my anxiety levels have PLUMMETED! I really should just delete my account one of these days, but in the meantime, if you need me and you normally DM me on Twitter, PLEASE message me on Instagram instead! IG feels so much “safer” for my mental health that it’s become my #1 social media source again and I check my DMs there WAY more often. 1. Happy to hear that you had a good week, Destiny! ? I was on vacation so I didn’t do much reading, but I’m currently making my way through the Jackaby series! I’m also very excited to finally read more of the Wayward Children books ?

    1. animal crossing is the best! I feel like I’m so far behind everyone else because for the first few months I played sparingly and just really liked to fish. Also, have you watched any of tinylibrary’s (youtube) island tours? I really enjoy her channel and the islands she shares are so intimidating and inspiring!

      1. No, I haven’t seen her channel but I’m for sure going to check it out! I always love some good AC inspo <3 and don't feel bad about not playing at the same pace! I've been playing really low-key for the last month or so, and haven't done all of the summer stuff, so I feel the same way sometimes, but I just remind myself that as long as we're having fun that's all that matters. <3

    1. Twitter consumes me too so I’ve stepped back from it, and half the time I wonder if half of what I’ve read on there is true!

      Have a great week ?

      1. Wondering if half of what you read there is true – SO RELATABLE. :/ I have definitely seen so much drama on twitter that ended up being stuff taken waaaaay out of context or outright lied about. It’s gotten to where there are just so many people on book twitter that I have either muted, or just know to take all of their hot takes with a biiig grain of salt lol.

        1. So true. I limit myself to once a day on there, a quick flick through and thats it. Its getting as toxic as Facebook.

    1. Ooh you finihsed quite some! I hope you have a great week!

    1. i might follow you on the switch from twitter to ig! instagram definitely has a much better vibe. i’ve been sticking pretty well to my twitter screen time, and most of that is spent on DMs or looking at my friend-specific feed. 🙂 glad it’s been helpful for you!

      1. Oh man, I love the IG vibes so much more! It’s just… so much calmer, but then when shit DOES go down, I feel like people actually DO something about it, name who did what and what happened, hash it out in the open, and move on – instead of how on twitter, it’s always subtweets and having to dig around to find out who’s being shitty. :/ not to say I think burden should fall on the victims by any means, but there are definitely people I know on twitter who live for the “who is this? can you DM me?!” comments lmao. Sorry… didn’t mean to rant at you. ???

ON A HAPPIER NOTE, i finally made a faves list on twitter a few days ago and am trying to get in the habit of going straight there instead of my regular feed. whenever I can do that, it helps a lot!

        1. haha no worries for the rant, i totally feel that! the subtweeting drives me absolutely up the wall. ig just tends to be more friendly in general too, in my experience! i’m glad the faves list is hopefully helping! 🙂 i use it religiously now as my new feed and spend maybe 2 seconds scrolling through my regular feed. it’s nice not feeling like i’m missing things from my friends and def helps for keeping to the good vibes!

    1. I really can’t believe it’s AUGUST already!! ?Gosh, this year it’s flying, which may be good thing, right? ? & I’m dying to know your thoughts on The Only Good Indians, I’ve been thinking about reading it ???

Say hello! ♥
