The Weekly Wrap — December 25th, 2019

December 25, 2019

The Weekly Wrap is a new post I’ll be doing every week where we’ll talk about current reads, recently finished reads, what I’m listening to, games I’m playing, movies I’m watching, and general life stuff. ♥ If you’re a fan of my past WWW Wednesday & The Sunday Post updates, you’ll love this combination of the two!

new review arrivals:

  • e-arcs:
    • The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires
    • Harrow Lake
    • Taylor Before and After
  • print arcs:
    • Till the Score is Paid
    • Burn the Dark
  • audio arcs:

I hauled a little more than I meant to this week, but that new Grady Hendrix title is one of my most anticipated 2020 releases, and all of the others sounded so good, too! I don’t think I requested Burn the Dark, but I honestly can’t remember 100% and I’m really excited about it either way, so I’m going to try to get to it before its release next month.

what I watched:

? I didn’t watch any movies or TV shows this week, but I did finally start working on my ridiculous backlog of booktube videos to catch up on! ? My watch later was at about 400 titles at the start of the week and I think I have it down to 330ish right now. Maybe I can binge watch a bunch this week.

what I’m listening to:

? I haven’t listened to anything but audiobooks this week.

what I’m playing:

? Delicious — Emily’s Holiday Season (I play this every year at Christmastime and it never gets old.)

life updates:

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, loves! ♥ I can’t believe that, when I post the next weekly wrap next Wednesday, it’s going to be a brand new year and decade. That blows my mind! I always feel so old when I say this, but where the hell has the time gone? ?

I’ve been on vacation from work since Thursday, and it’s been pretty damn blessed. I love my job, but nothing beats being home with my spouse & kiddo, reading and gaming and catching up on some much-needed naps. I don’t go back until Monday and I only work 3 days next week, so I keep basically feeling like I have another week and a half of vacation, which is pretty awesome. I don’t know how I’m going to cope when I have to go back to my regular schedule. ???

    1. I also finished up Better Watch Out. I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not terrible but not great. I do think that it would make into an interesting movie though. It would probably be one of the few that’s better in that format than a book/novella/short storie

      1. Same haha! I found myself thinking a few times that it would make a great short film but didn’t work so well as a written story. I’ve been watching Two Sentence Horror Stories on Netflix lately & I feel like it would be PERFECT for that show!

Say hello! ♥
