"Two Truths & A Lie" Tag

January 17, 2019

It’s time for another round of Tag Thursday! Recently, my awesome friend Kaleena created this Two Truths & A Lie tag, and I felt it was past due for me to do the tag, too! By the way, Kaleena’s birthday is this weekend, and she’s hosting an awesome Edgar Allan Poe readathon to celebrate, so go check it out and join up here!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE — from Kaleena’s post:

  • Create a post with your two bookish truths and one bookish lie – but be sure to keep it a secret so your readers can guess!
  • Reveal the lie in a spoiler at the bottom of your post (you can use this HTML code!)

  • Tag 8 friends to play along.
  • Link back to the original post so I can see all your secrets!

TWO TRUTHS & A LIE:

  1. I dog-ear pages on a regular basis.
  2. I was sorted into Slytherin as a teen.
  3. I think the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice adaptation is superior to the BBC adaptation.

Which one is the lie? Let me know in the comments if you guessed right (but don’t spoil it for anyone else!).

REVEAL THE LIE:

#2 is the lie! I’ve been sorted into Gryffindor in every single test I’ve taken since I was a kid. ?

I’m a dummy, I’m supposed to pick the lie. I’m going to say the lie is that you were sorted in Slytherin!

  • Sarah January 17, 2019 at 11:13 am

I was totally wrong! This is such a fun tag, I might even do a couple batches in mine. 🙂

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:40 pm

You totally should! Which one did you guess? I figure it’s been a few days so now I can let my curiosity out. ?

      • Sarah January 20, 2019 at 10:08 am

        I guessed Slytherin, oops!

        • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 20, 2019 at 10:57 am

Haha! To be fair, whenever I do the percentage quizzes, they always show my Slytherin as a very high secondary. ?

  • ✩ Ashley ✩ January 17, 2019 at 12:30 pm

Ahhh I so got it right!! ?

  • Mandy R January 17, 2019 at 1:07 pm

That was a tough one! I did guess correctly!

  • mistysbookspace January 17, 2019 at 1:22 pm

    I actually got it right!!

  • Kelly January 17, 2019 at 1:47 pm

    I got it wrong ?
What a fun tag, LOVE this idea!

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:41 pm

Hahaha which one did you guess?! It’s been a few days so I’m just going to hope people will make their guesses before looking at the comments now. ? And consider yourself officially tagged, lovely!

  • Avery @ RedRocketPanda January 17, 2019 at 2:35 pm

Yesss, I got it right. So far, my record is 2/2 for you and Kaleena :’)

  • CJR The Brit January 17, 2019 at 4:07 pm

I was totally wrong! What a great idea this tag is!

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:42 pm

Haha it is a great tag, feel free to do it! What did you guess?

      • CJR The Brit January 21, 2019 at 12:48 pm

        I was going for Slytherin!

        • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 21, 2019 at 1:50 pm

Haha its not a bad guess! Slytherin is my secondary house and my percentage last time I took a quiz had it *almost* high enough to make me a… Gryfferin? Slytherdor? ? I dunno.

          • CJR The Brit January 22, 2019 at 2:20 am

            Slytherdor for the win!!!! ?

  • sammers65 January 17, 2019 at 5:59 pm

Ya girl guessed one, and it hurt my heart that I was wrong LMAO! BUT YAY THAT YOU GET EASY ACCESS TO MERCH FOR GRYFFINDOR!

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:43 pm

?? I’m sorryyyyy! I used to not do it, but now, as long as the book is mine and not anyone else’s/a library book, I don’t feel bad if I don’t have page tabs handy and need to mark quotes for reviews or something.

  • Sionna (Books in Her Eyes) January 17, 2019 at 9:31 pm

Le gasp! I totally didn’t guess your lie! D: hahah

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:43 pm

Haha! Which one did you guess?

      • Sionna (Books in Her Eyes) January 20, 2019 at 8:24 am

Dog-earring pages! That is usually people’s pet peeves regarding books, so I thought it was a safe answer.
When I first did Pottermore, I was placed in Slytherin. I took the quiz 5 times last year and was placed in every house once with the fifth time being Ravenclaw. So… I consider myself a Ravenclaw haha I’m also not very trusting with the quiz anymore.

        • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 20, 2019 at 10:53 am

Haha I feel like that’s probably the one a lot of people guessed! My good old red herring. ? I only do it with my own books, of course, and not if I have page tabs laying around (I dog ear quotes for reviews).
Hahaha that’s hilarious and really weird! ?

  • Kristina January 17, 2019 at 9:35 pm

yees !! I got the lie correct !
Thoses were some nice truths/lie combo :3

  • Abby @ AJ's Pages January 18, 2019 at 1:46 am

This is such a cool concept!

  • Kaleena @ Reader Voracious January 18, 2019 at 11:40 am

    A FELLOW DOG-EARER! ?
I guessed correctly but I literally snorted out loud when I read #3. Talk a bout an unpopular opinion!

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 19, 2019 at 11:54 pm

Bahahaha, yessss! I dog-eared a lot as a kid, stopped in my late teens/early 20s, and recently realized… who gives a damn? They’re my books, and when I don’t want them anymore, I generally donate them or give them away — I very rarely sell them — so it’s not hurting anyone!
And yeah… ? I’ve been yelled at by some friends for #3, but it is what it is.

  • Ellyn January 19, 2019 at 12:12 am

*cries* I called it! That was pretty hard ngl but I feel like I know you 5% better now!

  • Jenna @ Falling Letters January 20, 2019 at 6:04 pm

Oh dear, I hoped the lie was #1 but I was wrong ;P I once bought a copy of The LotR for the sole purpose of dog-earing and writing in but I can rarely bring myself to do even that…

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 20, 2019 at 6:19 pm

Haha, I feel like everyone hoped for that. ? I only do it in my own books, of course, and only when I don’t have page tabs handy, but it is so useful for tabbing a quote I want to use in my review or something if I’m reading on the go!

  • Kathy @ Books & Munches January 22, 2019 at 4:32 am

I totally thought the dog-earing was the lie since I KNOW you have some Slytherin-ness in you. <_< You had me on that one, haha!

    • Destiny @ Howling Libraries January 22, 2019 at 7:04 pm

Bahahah ?? I do, it’s my secondary house! But alas, my main result has ALWAYS been Gryffindor.

      • Kathy @ Books & Munches January 24, 2019 at 4:20 am

Gryffindor for life! Although some people say I should retake the test since they’re certain I fit in Slytherin now. Like. I refuse to do that because I don’t even want to THINK about switching houses? No freaking way am I ever.
