It’s time for a weekly check-in!
Happy leap year day, everyone! I can’t believe it’s the last day of February already. I’m really looking forward to spring and missing the sunshine, so I’m not mad about it. Our weather has been absolutely wild here lately! Earlier this week, it was sunny and in the low 70s, and then yesterday it was freezing and storming. We usually get a cold snap around early March and then it starts warming up, and I’m excited. I don’t like hot weather at all, and I have terrible seasonal allergies, but the sunshine is a nice trade-off 🌞 Are you looking forward to the new month?
As I mentioned in my TBR post a few weeks ago, I decided to join Misty in her goal of reading 29 books in February, and I’m surprised to say this, but I’m at 28 books so far! I’ll just have to finish one more today, and while I could’ve gone ahead and read another really short novella from KU last night, I decided to wait and hopefully finish one of my “full-sized” current reads today. 😅 If I don’t manage that, I’m sure I’ll just pick one of my 50-100 page horror stories on my kindle tonight.
It was a good reading week for the most part! I had one big disappointment with The Fine Print, but everything else was good (or, at least, quick enough to not matter). Misty and I finished catching up on the Wayward Children series and we buddy read Butcher & Blackbird, which I could easily see going down as a favorite of the year!

I started playing a new release called Supermarket Simulator that I found randomly on Steam a few days ago and I am OB. SESSED. 😂 It’s the most delightful, mindless little game where you run a tiny supermarket and it’s so fun. I’ve been playing it while listening to audiobooks a lot this week!
What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!

March 1, 2024I’m also very excited and ready for spring! ♥ I’m ready for the sunshine, the warmer weather, flowers, going hiking in the lush green forests… So ready for spring to be here already! You had such a good reading time too! I see you read Skeleton Song ? You know I’m going to want the details on that! ♥

March 10, 2024Yessss, so ready for spring! You know how much I hate summer, but man, I love me some spring. I’m ready! And Skeleton Song was so good. It was about Christopher’s time in Mariposa and I definitely recommend checking it out if you haven’t! It’s actually free on Reactor Mag’s website: https://reactormag.com/skeleton-song-seanan-mcguire/

March 1, 2024Me and my friends came so close to us all three buying a copy of Butcher & Blackbird and starting like a monthly book club since we’re all going to be in different cities, etc. So happy to see you enjoyed it. I’m gonna push for us to actually have a book club and for that to be our first book haha.
