It’s time for my Winter TBR!
Before diving into my summer goals, I want to take a look back at my Autumn TBR and see how much progress I’ve made.
- The Devil Makes Three
- A Heart in a Body in the World
The Ghosts That Haunt Me
DNF
The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires (currently reading)
Mysteries of Thorn Manor
Lost in the Moment and Found
Pestilence (currently reading)
Ghost Squad
DNF
Riot Baby
- The Love Hypothesis
I read half of my Autumn TBR and have a couple more in progress, so I’m not mad about it!
I’m doing something new for 2023’s seasonal TBRs and lowering them to 6 books per season instead of 10! Every season in 2023, I plan on choosing 3 review copies and 3 mood reads or recent hauls.
Tell Me I’m Worthless // Alison Rumfitt → releases Jan 17, 2023 → this is a queer haunted house horror story that I’m hearing a lot of rave reviews for! Plus, the author is a trans woman and I think the main character is, too.
What Lies in the Woods // Kate Alice Marshall → releases Jan 17, 2023 → I loved Rules for Vanishing so much that I just want to read ALL of Kate’s books now, and this is her first time writing an adult thriller!
How to Sell a Haunted House // Grady Hendrix → releases Jan 17, 2023 → I adore Grady’s books and am so hyped for this, plus I’m buddy reading it with Mark!
Do I Have to Wear Black? // Mortellus → my amazing friend Cathy sent me this for my birthday and I’ve been wanting to read it ever since she recommended it to me ages ago. It’s a nonfiction book about how modern pagans can perform death rituals, funerals, etc.
Nettle & Bone // T. Kingfisher → I just want to read T. Kingfisher’s entire backlog at this point, and Ashley gifted me this! I think the main character has a ghost/skeleton dog for a companion.
Annihilation // Jeff VanderMeer → I know very little about this series, but I’ve heard it raved about for years and I got a copy recently, so I thought I’d go into it while I’m still spoiler-free!
What’s on your Winter TBR? If you’ve made a post or video about it, please feel free to drop a link below – I’d love to see it! ♥

December 21, 2022I hope you like Annihilation! I fell in love with it while reading it. I didn’t enjoy the sequels quite as much but it’s still one of my favorite books of all-time.

December 21, 2022I do love a seasonal TBR! I will lower mine from 12 to 9 in 2023. I haven’t decided on my winter TBR quite yet, but I’m thinking about it! I have heard good things about T Kingfisher, but haven’t read any of the books yet.

December 26, 2022Thank you!
Oh, I’m so excited. I really can’t wait to see how it will be, especially since I feel like Rules for Vanishing was one of the spookier YA thriller/horror stories I’ve read – I wonder if her adult debut will be even darker?
