June 19, 2019

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Last night, I decided that part of why I’ve read so little over the last several days might be due to feeling overwhelmed by how many current reads I had going on, so I forced myself to whittle it down a bit. There were almost no permanent DNFs this week, only titles I’m going to pick back up another time (except My Absolute Darling Her Silhouette, Drawn in Water — I’m done with those 2 for good).
I know I only knocked it down to 25 current reads, but given that I’m far enough into a handful of those to pretty easily (hopefully) knock it down to 20 or less this week, I’m feeling a lot better about things~! ♥

  1. ?❌ My Absolute Darling
  2. ✨ Something Like Gravity ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
  3. ⌛ Written in Red
  4. ✨⌛ Little Darlings
  5. ✨⌛ The Vanishing Season
  6. ✨❌ Her Silhouette, Drawn in Water
  7. ?⌛ The Death of Mrs. Westaway
  8. ✨⌛ Empire of Silence
  9. ✨⌛ Teach Me
  10. ✨⌛ Ghost Mine

I have a couple of library loans I HAVE to return this week, so I’ll be reading or DNFing them:

  1. Giant Days, Vol. 9
  2. Victor LaValle’s Destroyer
  3. Heavy Vinyl, Vol. 1
  4. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Vol. 1
  5. Monstress, Vol. 3
  6. Fake Blood

Have you read any of the titles I mentioned in this post, or are any on your TBR? Let me know in the comments!

    1. I got Fake Blood from my library and I hope it’s a fun one 🙂 the synopsis makes me both smile and crack up. Can’t wait to see if you love The Kingdom!

    1. No shame in taking things slow! And getting overwhelmed is something I can all too well relate too, but I think you handled it really well! And your post shows it! Super proud of you Destiny!

    1. Good gracious, so many books, love! I hope you’ve been enjoying most of them! <3 I've been having a similar feeling of being overwhelmed by the number of my current reads, but it's significantly lower than yours. I'm afraid my brain would explode if I had to juggle more than 4 or 5 books. Haha! I'm sure you'll be able to knock out some of those reads this week, and I hope it'll make you feel better! <3 Also, you completely reminded me that Dev1at3 releases next week! I had completely forgotten that book was coming out soon! I can't wait to read it! 🙂

    1. This is such a great post! I don’t think I’ve ever read a WWW Wednesday post with so many books! Are you actively reading all of them? 🙂

    1. You are slowly chipping away! It is ridiculously satisfying to watch you slowly conquer your CR list haha.
What did you think of My Absoute Darling? I got an ARC but also ended up DNFing it. I loved the writing but it was such a heavy, slow reading book and with the graphic nature of everything on top I sadly struggled.

      1. Suuuuch a slow reply, so sorry, but same on My Absolute Darling! It was just too heavy and sad. 🙁 I might try it again someday, maybe with the audiobook so I can kind of “tune out” when it gets to the super triggering scenes?

        1. I actually came across the audio through my library and thought the same thing. The good thing is that by having a peek at it, we already know what sort of mood is needed for that type of story.

Say hello! ♥
