WWW Wednesday: still playing catch-up!

November 10, 2021

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What I’m currently reading:

I decided yesterday that I really want to focus on playing catch-up as much as possible and clearing my currently-reading shelf out between now and the end of the year! Right now, I’m trying to focus on one book at a time until I get my shelf cleared.

What I recently finished:

All I’ve wanted to do over the past few days is read and I love it. 🥰

  • Sugar Plum by Jenika Snow & Isabella Starling
    • This was pretty cute, not exactly my favorite use of some of the tropes but I did love the positive fat rep!
  • Sed de Sangre by V. Castro
    • While I enjoyed V’s writing style and look forward to reading more from her, I don’t think this was the best introductory work for me to pick. You all know I don’t mind sex in my books, but I like a little more plot surrounding it than I got here.
  • When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole
    • I started this months ago, read the first 30%, and put it down for a while because it was so heavy, but I finally picked it back up yesterday and tore through the rest of it in one sitting. SO GOOD.
  • Murder Book: A Graphic Memoir of a True Crime Obsession by Hilary Fitzgerald Campbell
    • Don’t write a book about being a true crime fan where you keep saying “I’m not romanticizing it!” and then proceed to, in fact, romanticize it over and over again.
  • Specter Inspectors by Bowen McCurdy
    • I loved this so much! So spooky and lovely and full of the best queer found family vibes.

What I’ll read next:

I’m still working on graphic novel Hoopla/library loans & eARCs and I’m hoping to knock all of them out today and tomorrow!

What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Let me know in the comments!

    1. I’ve read a few graphic novels in the past few days, most of which I’ve really liked! I’m now focusing most of my time on my ARC of Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell, which I’m enjoying!

    1. Ohh, so many great graphic novels, including several I want to read (for instance Fine Print)! I hope you have a great time with those you still need to read, enjoy!

    1. Good luck with your reading, Destiny! My library finally got Something is Killing the Children Vol. 3, so I was able to read it, I hope you enjoy it as well 🥰

    1. So many goodies! Glad you’ve found a reading bug and have been enjoying it! I just finished Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco and Kiss of A Demon King by Kresley Cole last night–10/10 would recommend these gems <3
