WWW Wednesday: I raised my Goodreads reading goal!

November 17, 2021

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What I’m currently reading:

I originally had my reading goal for the year on Goodreads set to 100 books, but back near the start of the year, I lowered it to 24 because of how bad my slump was. Now that it’s almost the end of the year, I realized I’ve already read over 80 books this year, so I feel pretty confident I can make it to 100 — so, I upped my goal back to 100! I’m at 85/100 right now, so I’d better get busy.

  • Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell: I’m 20% in and it’s been SUPER creepy, but the book just took a big turn that I’m worried might make it way less creepy :/
  • You Better Be Lightning by Andrea Gibson

What I recently finished:

All I’ve wanted to do over the past few days is read and I love it. 🥰

  • Fine Print, Vol. 1 by Stjepan Sejic
    • This was such a big disappointment! There’s a shitty acephobic moment right in the prologue, and then the plot is all over the place and boring. The art is pretty, but that’s literally all this book had going for it.
  • Cats Like Cream by Renee Miller
    • This was pretty fun and gross – a nice, quick read!
  • Spy x Family, Vol. 1 by Tatsuya Endo
    • This was so cute and I’m definitely planning to continue the series!
  • Awkward Pause by Ryan Harby
    • This little comics collection was so goofy and cute. I literally laughed until I cried at one point 😂
  • Deserter by Junji Ito
    • Not my favorite collection of his, but I do think this would be an excellent intro to Junji Ito’s works for anyone who’s new to reading his books!

What I’ll read next:

Still working through that big pile of graphic novels, but I’m almost done with them! The Hoopla loans (the first 4 in the list) are due back in a couple of days, so these won’t be here next week, one way or another. 😂

What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Congrats on upping your goal + good luck! And I also hope you enjoy all your graphic novels. 🙂 As for me I reading a Dutch book called Nachtvorst, so far quite good!

        1. You’re welcome! And I did! A bit of a shame about one plotline, but the rest of the book was fantastic. Tons of twists/turns.

    1. so glad you’ve been having such a good time reading! it’s the best feeling when you can just read and read and enjoy it. 🙂 i definitely need to take greater advantage of hoopla, i know my libraries use it but i’ve never tried it!

    1. Good luck with your new reading challenge, Destiny! I’m so happy to see that you enjoyed Spy x Family, I LOVE the found family dynamics so much 🥰 I just recently finished the third volume. Tidesong by Wendy Xu also looks so cute! 😊
