It’s time for the “creatures of the night”Β book tag!
I saw Tammy do this tag a few months ago and have had it sitting in my bookmarks ever since, but I keep forgetting to do it! It’s such a fun tag and I’m actually even going to borrow Tammy’s idea ofΒ highlighting two books for each answer: one book I loved and one book that’s still on my TBR.Β
π¦ vampire π¦
READ:Β The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires β I absolutely adored this book! It’s full of heart and southern charm, but it’s also very creepy at times. It tackles a lot of social issues head-on too, mainly domestic abuse and racism, so heads up for those content warnings if you pick this one up!
TBR:Β Empire of the Vampire β I can’t believe I haven’t picked this up yet, but I’m determined to read it (and book #2 in the series) some time this year!
πΊ werewolf πΊ
READ:Β The Wehrwolf β this is a very short novella that you can read on Kindle Unlimited (it even has the audiobook if you have KU), and it was incredible! I need to read more from this author for sure.
TBR:Β Mongrels β I love SGJ’s writing and I know I’ll love this. I tried reading it once before but wasn’t in the right mental headspace for something so heavy, so I’m looking forward to trying it again soon.
π§ββοΈ zombie π§ββοΈ
READ:Β Where the Dead Go to Die β I feel like I haven’t shut up about this since reading it a couple of months ago, but it’s so freaking good! It’s a zombie story with a twist: becoming a zombie is a slow process treated like a terminal illness and the main character is a nurse at a zombie “hospice”.
TBR:Β Feed β this has been on my TBR for ages and I’m planning on joining a group read for it in a few months. I’m excited!
π» ghost π»
READ:Β Bound Feet β I definitely don’t talk about this novella enough, but it’s really sad and haunting and gorgeous. Kelsea’s writing amazes me every time!
TBR:Β Echoes β this is a whole anthology of ghost stories and I’ve been meaning to read it since it came out, but it’s like 800 pages and that feels like a very big commitment. π
π§ββοΈ witch π§ββοΈ
READ:Β The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches β I didn’t really expect to love this book as much as I did, but it was SO sweet and had such good depictions of trauma and healing!
TBR:Β The Honey Witch β the cover for this book is SO beautiful π and I’m so excited for it!
π§ββοΈ fairy π§ββοΈ
READ:Β An Enchantment of Ravens β I will never stop gushing about this book and how fun its depictions of the fae courts are!
TBR:Β Fortuna Sworn β another book that has been on my TBR waaay too long. I need so many more hours in a day just to make a dent in my romantasy TBR. π€£
πΏ demon πΏ
READ:Β The Hellbound Heart β this counts, right? I’m saying it counts. I loved this novella and I love the Hellraiser films.
TBR:Β The Exorcist β I actually feel like an odd one out when it comes to the original movie adaptation because I’m not a fan and don’t find it scary at all, but I’ve always heard the book is way creepier and I’d like to find out for myself.
π½ alien π½
READ:Β Black Tide β I seriously think about this book so often. It was so unique and fun!
TBR:Β Choosing Theo β I want to read more alien romances and I’ve heard this series is excellent!
π¦ΈββοΈ superpowered human π¦ΈββοΈ
READ:Β The Bone Season β I know I’m probably supposed to pick a superhero book, but I don’t really read any of those! This series has humans with psychic powers, so I’m using it. It’s such a good series that I don’t talk about enough!
TBR:Β Renegades β like I said, I don’t really read superhero books… but I do really want to read this superhero series!

I love witchy books so much and I’m very excited for The Honey Witch as well, the cover is gorgeous ? I really enjoyed Renegades (though I should read the final book ?)! I’m not usually a superhero person either, but I loved how the book portrayed them!
