February 2024’s TBR & Journal Spreads: can I read 29 books in February?

February 1, 2024

Another month, another stack of reading goals

I made good progress with most of my January goals! I didn’t accomplish them all, but I did finish my main TBR for the month and that was despite some slumping, illness, and mental health struggles. 😅 I hope February is a little more productive, though!

January goal check-in:

  • succeed at all of my monthly checklist goals ❌
    • I didn’t make it through all of them, so they’re being rolled over, as you’ll see further down in the post 😅
  • start taking reading notes again ✅
    • yes, I did this one! I have a whole multi-page spread of notes just for The Shadow of What Was Lost in my GoodNotes app on my iPad
  • complete all of my January buddy/group reads on time 🤷‍♀️
    • mostly accomplished this one! I’m still finishing Bewitched and Slaying the Vampire Conqueror, which my partners have finished already, but it wasn’t too long ago so it’s not a huge failure 😂

My goals for February are:

  • read a book per day 🤯
  • blog 3+ times per week
  • start blog hopping weekly again!

monthly checklist:

Every month I’m going to try to make progress on my seasonal TBR, 2024 TBR, 2024 series goals, and TBR jar goal! Since I didn’t finish all of my January goals, they’re being rolled over to this month.

  • 2 books from 2024 TBR (+1 from January)
    • leftover: Clown in a Cornfield, Cabin at the End of the World
    • new: House of Flame and Shadow, What Feasts at Night
  • 2 books from seasonal TBR
    • That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon, Cinema Viscera
  • 2 titles from TBR jar (+2 from January)
    • leftover: Darkest Unsolved Mysteries, Cinema Viscera
    • new: Snuff, Let’s Go Play at the Adams’
  • 2 prompts from TBR jar
    • prompt picks: fantasy, romance
  • 2 books from 2024 series goals (+2 from January)
    • leftover: City of Heavenly Fire, Caraval
    • new: Legendary, Finale
  • 1 book from 35 by 35 TBR
    • The Shadow of What Was Lost (currently reading)

February’s picks:

Misty inspired me by reading one book per day last February, and when I found out she was going for it again this year, I decided to join her! I’m not going to list 29 books because that would make this post too long, but I will list some of what I plan on reading!

  1. Wayward Children series // Seanan McGuire → I’ve read all but the newest release and the short stories, and I think Misty’s only read the first one, so we’re buddy reading the whole series! Almost all of the audiobooks are on Hoopla, which should make this one pretty easy. 😄
  2. Mindf*ck series // S.T. Abby → I’ve been meaning to read this series for SO long! Misty and I are buddy reading these, too, though she’s already read the first one.
  3. Butcher & Blackbird // Brynne Weaver → another Misty buddy read! I’m seeing this everywhere and the FOMO got to me lol
  4. House of Flame and Shadow // Sarah J. Maas → OBVIOUSLY we’re buddy reading this 😂 we’re starting it TODAY!
  5. Bride // Ali Hazelwood → the Books Out of the Blue BOTM pick and my first Ali Hazelwood read! (feel free to join us!)
  6. The Fine Print // Lauren Asher → my friend Ashleigh is hosting a buddy read of this on Storygraph if anyone wants to join!
  7. Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives // Adam Cesare → a few of us in my discord buddy read the first book in January and I’m excited to continue the series!
  8. Bunker Dogs // Gage Greenwood → this book and the rest of the list are buddy reads in Charisa’s discord!
  9. Playground // Aron Beauregard
  10. Psychic Teenage Bloodbath // Carl John Lee
  11. Gone to See the River Man series // Kristopher Triana

February’s reading journal spreads:

I’m SO happy with how my February spreads turned out! I found the cutest little sticker pack for like $2 at Michael’s and it was all cat-themed Valentine’s Day stickers, and I immediately knew I wanted to use them to inspire the whole month. My goal was to make it “look like Valentine’s Day threw up everywhere” and I think I accomplished that. 😂

What are you reading this month?

    1. Your February reading journal spread is soooo pretty! I’ve only read the first two Wayward Children books, but thoroughly enjoyed them. I hope you accomplish tons in February (including reading a book a day, what a goal!)!

    1. Good luck with your goals & TBR! 💖 February is the perfect month for reading a book a day 😄 You’ve reminded me that I really need to read House of Sky and Breath, now that the new book is out!

Say hello! ♥
