Monthlies TBRs

January TBR: kicking off 2022 with some buddy reading!

January 3, 2022

Another month, another TBR ~

Happy New Year, friends! I seriously can’t believe it’s already a new year. I hope this year brings us all kindness and plenty of good reading sessions. ♥

My goals for January are:

  1. Get back into the habit of daily reading (even if it’s just a few minutes!)
  2. Get a head start on my winter TBR & my 2022 goals
  3. Keep a reading journal with notes!

current reads (leftovers):

I didn’t finish all of my 2021 reads before the new year started, but I did manage to get my currently-reading shelf down to 3, so I’m starting the year off right with my “3 books at a time MAX” goal!

❄️ The House in the Cerulean Sea // T.J. Klune
❄️ A Court of Wings and Ruin // Sarah J. Maas (RE-READ)
❄️ For the Wolf // Hannah F. Whitten

january’s picks:

I’m planning on reasonable monthly TBRs now (5-ish books at the most) because I want to use my TBR jar, and I have my 2022 TBRs/challenges to focus on! One is a review copy I’m very excited to read, but the rest are also books from my 2022 and winter TBRs.

❄️ Dead Silence // S.A. Barnes (review copy)
I’m basically pitching this to myself as “Ghost Ship, but in space” and I’m really very hyped!

❄️ The Shadow of the Gods // John Gwynne (buddy read + winter TBR)
I’m buddy reading this with my spouse and so excited to finally be introduced to the world of John Gwynne books!

❄️ Weather Girl // Rachel Lynn Solomon (group read + review copy)
I’m reading this with the Hoemance Book Club and really excited because I’ve heard so much hype for this new romance book!

❄️ Near the Bone // Christina Henry (group read + 2022 TBR)
I’m reading this for the TBR & Beyond group’s horror book of the month, but it’s also on my 2022 TBR, and I love Christina Henry’s books SO much that I can’t wait!

❄️ Cemetery Boys // Aiden Thomas (buddy read + 2022 TBR)
Malka and I have decided to do a chill buddy read for this and I’m excited to finally see what all the hype is about!

What are you reading this month?

I’m reading The Dictionary of Lost Words for book club. It’s not my favorite, but I’m almost done so I can read something better when I’m done.
