Randomizing My TBR #2

March 18, 2024

It’s time to randomize my tbr!

I’ve been watching DB post about randomizing her TBR and it just looks like so much fun, I had to join in! I’ve been missing the TBR-themed memes like Down the TBR Hole but I wanted something fresh and I felt like this was a fun new take on it!

Steps:

  • Go to your want-to-read shelf
  • From the drop-down lists at the bottom (on desktop), change “per page” to 10 and “sort” to random
  • Decide what to do with them: remove, read, or leave them on your TBR (or do what DB did, and what I’ve done also: sort them onto a priority TBR list!)

Original TBR shelf count (as of 03/09/2024): 4185

⛔ remove ⛔

  • ‘Til Grim’s Light by Michelle Gross: I’m still kind of interested in checking out this series (I got all of the books during Stuff Your Kindle Day a few years ago), but I may as well remove all but book 1 because I haven’t started the series and don’t know if I’d want to continue it.
  • Les Petites Morts: An Anthology of Dark Fairy Tales and Folklore edited by Evelyn Freeling: I added this because I like a few of the authors in the TOC, but the theme doesn’t really interest me much.
  • Queen Takes King by Joely Sue Burkhart: This is another series where I got a bunch of the books as freebies so I added them all, but I haven’t started the series and honestly don’t know if I ever will, so I’m removing everything except book #1.
  • The Diviners by Libba Bray: I’m sorry, I know some of you will be disappointed by this choice… but I just can’t do it! 😅 I’ve tried reading this 3 times and DNFed it every time!
  • Grave by Allison C. Meier: It’s never a good sign when I don’t even recognize a book on my TBR. 😅 I think this is a nonfic short piece about the history of burial sites or something, but it doesn’t interest me much.
  • What Became of Magic by Paige Crutcher: I was sent this as an unsolicited review copy, and it isn’t really my normal cup of tea for fantasy reads, but I was gonna give it a try. That said, the GR average is 3.08 right now and a lot of people complain that the characters are adults but talk like kids, which is an oddly specific pet peeve of mine, so I’ll donate this one.
  • Girls with Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young: I liked the first book in this series when I read it as an ARC, but I don’t even remember it now, and I don’t think I liked it enough to bother re-reading it to continue the series.

❗ move to “top-tbr” shelf ❗

🥱 I’ll get to it eventually 🥱

  • The Wicked by James Newman: This sounds really interesting to me! I think it’s Christmas-themed, so I’m not putting it on my “top-TBR” shelf, but I definitely still plan on checking it out.
  • Howls from Hell: A Horror AnthologyMy anthology TBR is a million miles long, so I won’t commit to prioritizing this one, but I am definitely still interested in checking it out.

are there any books you think I should have left on my tbr? which of my top-tbr books should I read next?

    1. Let’s not talk about all those Stuff your Kindle books 🤣🤣 I made a SEPARATE TBR jar for my kindle books and need to commit to pulling a paper or two every month.

Think I’ve only heard about Diviners here (which I have a physical copy somewhere haha) but glad you’re taking off/will read books soon!

      1. Omg stuff your kindle destroys my poor kindle library and any chance I could ever have of catching up on it, every single time 😂 but I’ve found a few gems through it so I’m not mad about it!

    1. Kinda funny how they almost all were anthologies ahah!
But good job 👏🏼👏🏼 a good chunk removed

    1. If I haven’t started the series I’ve been taking all but the first book off of my TBR and it’s helped me to remove a lot of books so far.

        1. The only time I will keep multiple books in a series is when I actually own the books whether that be physical or ebook.

Say hello! ♥
