Randomizing My TBR #7

April 29, 2024

It’s time to randomize my tbr!

I’ve been watching DB post about randomizing her TBR and it just looks like so much fun, I had to join in! I’ve been missing the TBR-themed memes like Down the TBR Hole but I wanted something fresh and I felt like this was a fun new take on it!

  • Go to your want-to-read shelf
  • From the drop-down lists at the bottom (on desktop), change “per page” to 10 and “sort” to random
  • Decide what to do with them: remove, read, or leave them on your TBR (or do what DB did, and what I’ve done also: sort them onto a priority TBR list!)

Original TBR shelf count (as of 03/09/2024): 4185

⛔ remove ⛔

  • Wayward, Vol. 1: String Theory by Jim Zub: I’ve lost interest in this and the reviews aren’t great.
  • Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall: I’d like to try something by this author eventually, but unfortunately most of their books just don’t interest me. 🤷‍♀️
  • Open Earth, Vol. 1 by Sarah Mirk: I’ve mentioned this lately, but I really have hit SUCH a huge graphic novel slump and it’s been going on a long while, so I’ve gradually been trimming down my graphics TBR list.
  • A Love Match for the Marquess by Cara Maxwell: I read SO little historical romance that I’ve started removing all of it from my TBR except my top priority picks that have come highly recommended by friends, etc.

❗ move to “top-tbr” shelf ❗

  • Freedom is a Constant Struggle by Angela Y. Davis: I’ve been craving nonfiction lately and this sounds excellent!
  • Illusions of Grandeur by Kathryn Ann Kingsley: I LOVE ghost romances and I hear this one is really good! The author’s note says it’s a “villain romance” and I’m here for it.
  • Bishop by Candace Nola: Yes, straight to the top TBR shelf for you! I’ve really enjoyed this author’s work so far and they’re quick reads!
  • The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones: I’ve been meaning to read this since it came out, which I think was 5 years ago or more. I loved this author’s debut The Hearts We Sold and I don’t know how I haven’t read anything else by her yet!

🥱 I’ll get to it eventually 🥱

  • The Lost War by Justin Lee Anderson: I’m still VERY interested in this, I just haven’t been reaching for fantasy as much lately after devouring so much of it in the past few months.
  • A Season of Monstrous Conceptions by Lina Rather: I was so into the idea of this novella as a horror book, but after learning it’s apparently more of a dark fantasy, it honestly fell down my priority list a bit.

are there any books you think I should have left on my tbr? which of my top-tbr books should I read next?

    1. I haven’t seen most of those- though ithink I have another Alexis Hall on my list somewhere.

    1. I really find have to be in a certain mood for Alexis Hall’s books, and even then sometimes they’re a bit miss. I absolutely adored Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake though. Hopefully you’ll find the right one for you one day!!

Say hello! ♥
