Stacking the Shelves — November 30th, 2019

November 30, 2019

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks!

If you want to find out more about Stacking The Shelves, please visit the official launch page!

Physical Review Copies:

  • Laughing at Shadows — edited by Brett Reistroffer [adult horror anthology]
    • An anthology of comedy/horror shorts that I’m dying to start ASAP!

Digital Review Copies:

  • How I Broke Up with My Colon — Nick Seluk/The Awkward Yeti [adult nonfic/humor comics]
    • This one’s up on Netgalley for “read now” if anyone else loves The Awkward Yeti and is interested. It’s nonfiction comics about weird/funny/awful medical stories and it’s hilarious AND informative! I loved it.
  • My Fake Rake — Eva Leigh [adult historical romance]
    • A historical romance with a fake dating scenario and a geeky hero I’m already swooning over and I haven’t even started it yet. It just sounds SO GOOD! This one just released a few days ago if anyone wants to grab a copy!

Kindle Purchases/Freebies:

  • Wolf Signs — Vivian Arend [adult paranormal romance novella; $0.99 on kindle]
    • A werewolf novella with a heroine who doesn’t know she’s a werewolf, and all the characters are Native or First Nations people, AND the main character is deaf. I read this immediately after downloading it and it hooked me immediately!
  • Lost to the Night — Adele Clee [adult paranormal romance; FREE on kindle]
    • A historical vampire romance that has really good reviews, plus it’s the first book in a series, AND it was free! I’m in a big PNR mood right now so I’m hoping to read it in December.

Physical Purchases & Gifts:

  • Slave to Sensation — Nalini Singh [adult paranormal romance]
    • I have heard SO many rave reviews for the Psy-Changeling series, and I’ve wanted to read it for a while, but the hold times are always super long, even though the first book is like 15 years old (and when a book that old has a long hold time, that’s usually a pretty good sign!). I finally treated myself and ordered a copy this week! This may also find itself on my December TBR.

Library & Kindle Unlimited Borrows:

  • Beauty in Spring — Kati Wilde [adult paranormal romance novella; kindle unlimited]
    • This is a four-piece Beauty and the Beast retelling novella series, and I’m really eager to start it. I randomly remembered a few days ago that I read The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride last year by this writing trio(?) and LOVED it, and while I do want to reread it this year, I also thought it’d be fun to finally try something else by them!
