State of the ARC #18: closing out the year!

January 3, 2020

Time for another ARC update!

My current State of the ARC…

December’s Progress…

Since my last State of the ARC post, I have completed 3 review copies!

  • My Fake Rake
  • 10 Blind Dates
  • Dead Meat: Day 3

I also DNFed and/or set aside (for now!) 4 review copies:

  • DNF (permanently):
    • Dine with Me (So boring!)
    • Taylor Before and After (I hated this writing style SO MUCH)
  • Might pick up again later:
  • DEFINITELY picking up again later:
    • The Deep (I just wasn’t in the mood)
    • Dark and Deepest Red (I was on the final edges of a slump and didn’t want to ruin my own experience with what I have no doubt will be an INCREDIBLE read!)

In Progress:

Right now, I have 3 review copies in progress:

  • Ghoster
  • Gideon the Ninth
  • Ghostland

Acquired/ARC Ban Update:

I hauled more than I meant to this month… ? But still less than the last few months, I think!

I acquired 14 new review copies (5 physical, 7 digital, and 2 audio) and I’ve already knocked off 1 of this month’s new arrivals!

  1. The Plain Janes ?
  2. The Empress of Salt and Fortune ?
  3. What Unbreakable Looks Like ?
  4. Till the Score is Paid ?
  5. Burn the Dark ?
  6. Girl, Serpent, Thorn ?
  7. Cemetery Boys ?
  8. Ghost Wood Song ?
  9. Clown in a Cornfield ?
  10. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires ?
  11. Harrow Lake ?
  12. Taylor Before and After ?
  13. This is Going to Hurt ?
  14. In the Dream House ?

Catching Up:

I didn’t make much progress in December! I didn’t read much in December at all, until the last few days of the month, really. Between finals, vacation, getting sick, and being super busy at work, everything “fun” got kind of put on hold until the holiday break (and then I spent the first half of that cleaning, running errands, and catching up on sleep!). I have a good feeling about January, though, especially since #ARCApocalypse just started!
