Summer 2023 TBR (and a look back at my Spring TBR progress)

June 21, 2023

It’s time for my Summer TBR!

Before diving into my summer goals, I want to take a look back at my Spring TBR and see how much progress I’ve made.

spring ’23 tbr

  1. Paradise-1
  2. The Salt Grows Heavy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  3. Everything the Darkness Eats ⭐⭐
  4. Briardark (currently reading)
  5. Unbreakable
  6. Pretty Girls

Man, I am really not sticking very well to these seasonal TBRs this year! 😅 I read two books and am currently reading another one from the list. I’m pretty sure I’ll still pick up Pretty Girls soon, but I’m not so sure if I’ll get to the other two right away. Briardark has been really good so far!

summer ’23 tbr

🌴 Night’s Edge // Liz Kerin → released June 20, 2023 → I have no idea if this book has summer vibes, I just know it’s one of those “sad horror” books and when I’m in the mood for a sad book, nothing fits the bill better than having my heart broken and my spine chilled at the same time.

🌴 The Jasad Heir // Sara Hashem → releases July 18, 2023 → I keep hearing such good things about this from friends who have read it already, and it’s so gorgeous and I’m SO keen on the idea of this Egyptian-inspired fantasy!!

🌴 Maeve Fly // CJ Leede → released June 6, 2023 → I’ve been hearing this is fifty shades of fucked up and I’m here for it.

🌴 Off Season // Jack Ketchum → I think this might be the 3rd year in a row that I’ve put this on my summer TBR, and somehow I never get around to it, but I REALLY want to this year. 😅

🌴 FantasticLand // Mike Bockoven → The TBR & Beyond horror group is reading this one in August, but I’m so excited for it, I might pick it up earlier than that! 👀 Give me ALL the theme park horror, please!

🌴 The Long Walk // Stephen King → I asked Isaac to pick a book from my “top TBR” shelves, and he picked this one for me. It’s been on my TBR for 15+ years, so I’m excited to (hopefully) finally pick it up!

What’s on your Summer TBR?

    1. I can’t wait to see what you think of Pretty Girls. That book is so good but very graphic. Maeve Fly has peaked my interest. I don’t know much about it but the cover is interesting. Also I need to pick up Fantasticland. I got it from audible a while back. It sounds perfect for me.

        1. Omg yes, I would love to read Fantasticland with you!! It’s been so long since I’ve done a buddy read. We can work it out.

    1. Goodluck with this one, hope you’ll do better on this season, ahah!
On my part, I decided to shove seasonal tbrs in the fuck it bucket as I had been doing terrible lately aswell! xd still finding it hard to pick my next book, as I don’t seem to be in the mood for anything

    1. I see lots of people making summer tbr’s, I must admit I don’t have one, perhaps I should, thought I don’t think I have a lot of summer themed books on my book shelf. I will be finished with work soon, for the summer, so I may make one then, hope you enjoy your books

    1. I have been seeing more people do more horror for their tbr’s this Summer.
I had a decent run at my spring tbr but that is after a while of not reading a whole lot of my tbr’s haha.

Say hello! ♥
