T10T: July-September 5-Star Predictions

July 2, 2019

TTT-Big2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s theme was “childhood favorites”, but it’s time for an update on my 5-star predictions! I do this every 3 months, so first, let’s look at my predictions from April through June:

April → June Predictions: UPDATE!

  1. The Dark Game ✅ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  2. Middlegame ? currently reading & loving
  3. The Bride Test ❌ ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  4. Hope and Other Punchlines ⌛ currently reading, undecided
  5. Call it What You Want ⛔ haven’t read yet
  6. Girls on the Verge ✅ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  7. Unnatural, Vol. 2 ⛔ haven’t read yet
  8. Wayward Sisters ✅ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  9. Rolling in the Deep ⛔ haven’t read yet
  10. Lords of the Deep ⛔ haven’t read yet

July → September Predictions

1. Darkdawn — Jay Kristoff
why I predict a 5-star rating:
I mean… it’s Jay…
2. The Girl the Sea Gave Back — Adrienne Young
why I predict a 5-star rating:

I liked Sky in the Deep a lot and honestly feel like I’ll enjoy this even more.
3. Fence, Vol. 3 — C.S. Pacat
why I predict a 5-star rating:

I’ve 5-starred everything of hers so far and I love this GN series!
4. Wolfsong — T.J. Klune
why I predict a 5-star rating:

I thought Klune’s short story Blasphemy! was one of the best things I’ve ever read and I can’t wait to read a full novel from him.
5. Rolling in the Deep — Mira Grant
why I predict a 5-star rating:

Yep, I’m putting this one back on the predictions list.

6. Criminal Intentions S1E3: The Man With the Glass Eye — Cole McCade
why I predict a 5-star rating:

It’s Cole McCade and this series is flawless ?
7. Dead to the World — Charlaine Harris
why I predict a 5-star rating:

I really loved book 3 and a lot of people say book 4 is even better!
8. Get a Life, Chloe Brown — Talia Hibbert
why I predict a 5-star rating:

It’s Talia! I mean… I think I accidentally did a theme of authors I love too much to imagine disliking anything they write ?
9. Imaginary Friends — Stephen Chbosky
why I predict a 5-star rating:

This is the “riskiest” prediction because Chbosky’s only ever written one book, and this is so different, but I have a good feeling about it.
10. If You See Her — Ania Ahlborn
why I predict a 5-star rating:

I’ve been meaning to read something by Ania Ahlborn for a long time and I just have really good feelings that I’m going to love her writing.

Do you have any 5-star predictions for your reading plans over the next few months? Do you think I will or won’t 5-star any of mine?

    1. I hope these end up being as good as you hoped! I usually make pretty good guesses as to what I’ll like too.

    1. I’m definitely expecting darkdawn to be 5 stars!

    1. It will be interesting to see if your predictions are correct!
      My TTT.

    1. I’m so excited that Chbosky is coming out with a new book – I just love him. It’s definitely a different book from Perks, but it sounds like something I’d really love too. I need to read the Fence series and Criminal Intentions.

    1. I hope you are right about Chloe Brown. I am excited about that book, and would love for it to be a 5-star read.

    1. Definitely agree on 1 & 2, don’t really know much about the rest. But I hope they are all 5 stars anyway!

    1. Hopefully these will be favorites for you! I sadly didn’t like call it what you want but I’m optimistic for the girl the sea gave back 🙂

    1. Yes, I think Darkdawn will be a 5 star read too. And the Fence comics are so cute!! I got the first 12 issues as comics so I think this will bring you up to date. I love these characters so much ?

    1. Lovely post! I have a feeling I’ll adore The Girl the Sea Gave Back, since I loved Sky in the Deep so much! The synopsis sounds wonderful, and I have high hopes for Adrienne Young! Oh, and what are your thoughts on Middlegame? I’ve been on the fence about reading that one! <3

      1. Thank you! That’s how I’m feeling on The Girl the Sea Gave Back, too. Sky in the Deep was so good, how could we NOT love her second book?! And Middlegame was amazing so far, but I actually set it aside a few days ago around the 100-page mark because I just haven’t had the attention span for it lately. I feel like I’m finally coming out of my slump right now though so I’m hoping to pick it back up, maybe in August!

    1. Middlegame I loved so much; I don’t think anything else I read this year will be better. It put me in a reading slump after cos I couldn’t find anything that was remotely near as amazing haha. Hope you still enjoy it when you pick it up again!

Say hello! ♥
