The Bookish Heavenly Virtues Tag!

August 20, 2020

Happy Tag Thursday, friends!

I grabbed this tag from Sofii, whom I love very much, so if you aren’t following her, stop what you’re doing and go fix that right now! I looked around a bit and couldn’t find credit for the creator of this tag, so if you know who created it, please let me know so I can add credit! ♥

CHASTITY: Which author/book/series do you wish you had never read?

This was a tough one, because honestly, there are very few books I hate so much I wish I hadn’t read them at all, but I’m going to go with What if It’s Us and More Happy Than Notbecause they made me realize that I absolutely can’t stand either Adam Silvera’s or Becky Albertalli’s writing, which is annoying because they’re so widely beloved. ?

TEMPERANCE: Which book/series did you find so good, that you didn’t want to read it all at once, and you read it in doses just to make the pleasure last longer?

The Shades of Magic series, for sure. ♥

CHARITY: Which book/series/author do you tirelessly push to others, telling them about it or even given away spare copies bought for that reason?

Definitely the Wayward Children series! I’ve given these books as gifts a few times and I’m always begging people to read them!

DILIGENCE: Which series/author do you follow no matter what happens and how long you have to wait?

I have a lot of authors like this, honestly, but the only one that I guess I’ve ever really had to wait on books being pushed back, etc., with is Sarah J. Maas?

PATIENCE: Is there an author/book/series you’ve read that improved with time the most, starting out unpromising, but ultimately proving rewarding?

I really thought I’d have an answer for this, but then I started thinking on it more, and… no, honestly. I can’t think of any series that I disliked in the beginning and loved by the end. Usually, they either come back around to being disappointing in the end, or I didn’t like them from the start and it stays that way! ?

KINDNESS: Which fictitious character would you consider your role model in the hassle of everyday life?

OMG… I don’t even like most “kind” characters! ??? I usually go for characters who are either kind of assholes or have been forced into pretty “unkind” ways of life. Geez, uh… maybe Katara? I know she’s not a book character, but yeah, I’ll go with her.

HUMILITY: Which book/series/author do you find most underrated?

How about Jonathan Janz? I definitely don’t hear him talked about enough outside of the super committed horror lover circles!

I’m in a hurry to post this, so I’ll just tag anyone who sees this and wants to join in on the fun!

    1. I’ve only read the first book in the shades of magic series and I really wanna read the rest of them!
I adore SJM so much! I am currently reading the throne of glass series I have adored every single book

      1. I hope you like the rest of the Shades series! And SJM is honestly a gem and a light in my life haha. I know she isn’t for everyone but damn, I just love her characters and stories so much!

    1. I don’t like Becky Albertalli either ? I disliked Simon vs. for the most part and am avoiding What If It’s Us because of it. So many people love her and I’m just like what is wrong with me ?

      1. Lmaoooo I get so petty-happy when I hear other people say they don’t like her because I legit just DO NOT enjoy her writing OR her rep for the most part!! Honestly, you aren’t missing a damn thing with avoiding What if it’s Us :/

    1. Oh I like that this is a fun quick tag to do. I have to say I also don’t like Becky’s writing. I read Simon and was just bored. I do have More Happy Than Not on my TBR but am a little iffy since you said you didn’t like it. I also need to check out the horror author you mentioned. I need to read more horror.

      1. It was fun! Thank you, I’m glad I’m not alone! I thought Simon was pretty boring too, and that was before I became as picky about YA contemp as I am now, so I feel like if I read it for the first time right now I would hate it lol.

        1. Yeah I felt the same when I saw your post. I know it’s a popular one with people. I haven’t tried reading any of her other books because I don’t think I’ll enjoy them.

    1. OMG, love!!! ?✨ SO happy you decided to do the tag, it’s so much fun reading your answers. ❤️ I LOVE the Wayward Children series, I think I would continue to read it even if I had 100 books ? & I adore the Shades of Magic trilogy too, the second book is my fave. ?

I LOVE YOU and thank you for always being an inspiration and for your beautiful words ✨?✨?✨

Say hello! ♥
