The "Books Under the Tree" Tag!

December 21, 2017

The Books Under the Tree Tag was originally created by Game of Tomes, but I learned about it thanks to a tag from sweet Melanie! I can’t get enough of these holiday-themed tags, so I thought I’d fill this one out! I won’t tag anyone at the end, but if you’re interested, help yourself – please just ping back to me or comment here so I can read your answers! <3

1. What book would you like to find under the tree this year?

I actually put quite a few books on my Christmas wishlist this year, but probably the #1 I most hope to find waiting on me is the UK hardback of Strange the Dreamer that I asked my mom to order me from BookDepository! I’ve been eyeing it ALL YEAR and saving it for Christmas, but I know I’m gonna have a hard time not ripping into it the moment I unwrap it if she got it for me (and I have a sinking suspicion she did, lmao).

2. What is the best book you have ever received for Christmas?

The one that comes to mind first isn’t because it was super special or exclusive or anything, but just because of how much it meant to me – The Hunger Games. I remember my dad getting it for me on a whim because his coworkers kept raving about it and he thought I would be interested, and I fell so incredibly in love with that series that it is still, to this day, one of my all-time faves.

3. What book gives you all the Christmas feels?

The only books that come to mind that honestly give me any Christmas feels are the Harry Potter books – specifically the first two. Who wouldn’t love to spend Christmas at Hogwarts, or in Hogsmeade?

4. What book do you plan on reading to put you in the Christmas spirit this year?

I don’t typically ever read Christmas-themed books around the holidays (or… ever?), so I can’t say there really are any on my list.

5. What book have you read this year that you would like to throw out with the Christmas tree after the holidays?

Oh god, the hardest thing about this question is narrowing it down to just one. I actually have an entire list of “most disappointing reads of the year” coming up soon for you guys, so there’s a little blog spoiler for you, haha. I’ll go with One of Us is Lying, because I think it enraged me more than anything else I read this year.

6. What is a book from this year that you would like to place under a friend’s tree?

There are a few, but some of the main ones coming to mind are The Hate U Give (review coming very soon!), How to Make a Wish, or Now I Rise

7. Challenge: create a stack of books in which the spines alternate green and red! Share the titles.

Luckily, I did this for IG a few days ago, so I got off easy here, lol.

8. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. Who do you tag?

I’m terrible at tagging people, so I’m just gonna invite everyone to help themselves. <3 Happy holidays, lovelies!

    1. Umm… the Huger Games story made me emotional? That’s honestly beautiful. And I found Harry Potter a VERY similar way (I was a bit too little, but my mom’s friend knew I loved reading and she couldn’t get into her copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone? Or her daughter couldn’t get into it? Regardless, that’s how I got into HP when I was a wee little shaver and…. YOUR STORY JUST MADE ME EMOTIONAL)
Beautiful picture, I loved all your answers, and I second you ripping into Strange the Dreamer (if Santa brings it) because…. my 2018 is going to me made simply by just talking about that book with you. ❄☃?xx
