It’s time for a weekly check-in!

Hi, friends! Happy July! I can’t believe we’re in the second half of the year already. 🤯 Somehow, at the same time, I’m feeling like Christmas is right around the corner and feeling like fall/Halloween is way too far away. 😅 I’m so ready for autumn and cooler weather and spooky decor in stores, but in the meantime, I’ll just hang out inside with the air conditioning as much as possible! I did hear that some folks are starting to see Halloween decorations in stores near them, and in my area, I think we usually start seeing them at the end of July or beginning of August, so I’m looking forward to adding to my collection. 😈

I read SO MUCH last week, so naturally, I read almost nothing this week! 😂 I buddy read Nightbitch with Sadie and I think we both enjoyed it overall, though we both had some issues with the pacing in parts. I definitely loved a lot of what the book had to say about motherhood, though!

I’m slowly chipping away at Dracula Daily! I have the ACSM file for the eARC, but it’s really hard to read comfortably because of how the pages are formatted (it’s going to be a tall and wide book, I think, so it’s a large page with small text), so I decided this week to just pull up the substack archive and start reading it through there, and it made it SOOO much easier to read! I’m hoping to finish it in the next week or so because I have a manga adaptation of Dracula checked out from the library and would really like to read it after finishing the full book. I’m also starting House of Sky and Breath today and maybe King of Scars, too! I can’t wait 😍

We finally started watching Wednesday and I love it! Wednesday’s commentary on “normie” life keeps me giggling, and I love the mystery elements so far.
