Weekly Check-in: haven’t had a book hangover THIS bad in a while

weekly check-in

It’s time for a weekly check-in!

life update

Not much to tell you this week, friends! It’s been a pretty stressful week IRL but I’m trying to get back on track now. I’m hoping that today will be calm and that I can get a lot of work done, and hopefully some reading, too! How’s your July going? (And can you believe it’s almost over?!)

just finishedPart of me is like, “wow, did I really only finish one book this week?” and then the other part of me is like, “of course I only finished one book this week, because that one book has given me the worst book hangover I’ve had in years!” 🫠

📚 current reads 📚

Yes, I really did start The Jasad Heir two weeks ago to read one chapter and then forget I was reading it until writing this post. 🙃 But on a happier note, I’m really enjoying most of my current reads, especially House of Sky and Breath and FantasticLand! Sadly, Witch King has been a disappointment and I miiiight DNF it today. I like the characters’ banter, but the world-building and plot have felt like a lot of telling instead of showing, and the main character’s giving me a bit of whiplash at times. 😅

and everything else Like last week, I was really way too busy to get into any movies/shows or games, but I’ve been craving a horror movie marathon so badly lately! I’m really hoping next week’s update has at least ONE horror movie in it 😭

Heads up: you can always friend me on Letterboxd if you wanna see my movie mini reviews!

What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Fourth Wing has made it hard for me to get fully immersed in every book I’ve read after it but luckily it hasn’t put me in to bad of a book hangover. I know what you mean though that book was amazing and nothing compares. Luckily I reread a book that I loved afterward so that helped me some.

Say hello! ♥
