Weekly Check-in: such a busy week!

weekly check-in

It’s time for a weekly check-in!

life update

This was a REALLY busy week in our home! Late last week, I was doing some painting in our living room and discovered water damage in one of our walls under our windows, that turned out to be so intense, we had to rip out most of that wall and replace the insulation and drywall. Thank goodness, my dad is a total handyman type and was able to do it all for us, but it was an extremely busy, tiring, HOT weekend and I’m glad it’s over. 😂 On the plus side, the new wall looks great, and it motivated me to re-arrange my “office” portion of the living room, so now my desk is so much cozier and better set up!

With how busy things were, I had a couple of days in a row of reading nothing or next to nothing, so this is a pretty short list.

I’m taking a step back on one of my buddy reads (Athena’s Fortune) to let my spouse catch up, but this week’s priority reads are still all buddy reads. I’m still finishing up HoEaB from reading it with Caro & Malli, I’m finishing up a BR of Final Girl Support Group with Kay, and I just started Wolfsong with Leslie & Dini!

and everything else

The kiddo has fallen in love with movies, FINALLY, after only being into television shows up until this point (aside from a year-long Moana obsession when it came out – I can’t blame him), so we’ve been introducing him to a variety lately. This week, we watched Men in Black (a forever fave), The Lego Batman Movie (still adorable), and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (which I hadn’t seen yet, and while it definitely wasn’t as good as the show, I actually enjoyed it). It’s been so much fun watching stuff with him and finding out what he likes or dislikes. We’ve learned he’s a major softy and he’s reached the age now (6) where he gets super emotional when he thinks families or friends are being separated, which is so precious and sad at the same time. My little teddy bear 🥰

Amazon.com: Men in Black (Deluxe Edition) : Tommy Jones, Will Smith, Linda Fiorentino, Vincent D'Onofrio, Rip Torn, Barry Sonnenfeld, Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald, Columbia Pictures: Movies & TV

Heads up: you can always friend me on Letterboxd if you wanna see my movie mini reviews!

What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!

      1. Thank you! It was SO good, but definitely make sure you’re in a good headspace because it can be really sad and frustrating at times. I know there were a couple of parts where I had to sit my book down and go do something else to calm down for a moment because the injustice was just infuriating!

Say hello! ♥
