weekly check-in

It’s time for a weekly check-in!

life update

Hi everyone! Some of you have already seen pictures, but for anyone who hasn’t: meet Echo!

We weren’t planning on adopting a puppy in the foreseeable future, but a dog shelter was having an adoption event at PetSmart over the weekend while we were there to pick up supplies and we decided to “just take a peek” and, well… when someone hands you an adorable, sleepy puppy and she curls up on your chest and gets cozy, what else are you supposed to do but take her home? 🤡 Echo is a 10-week-old German Shepherd/Rottie mix and we’re totally smitten with her. She’s so funny and all she wants to do is lay in our arms and sleep most of the time! 🥰 She’s already hit it off great with Ella and we keep joking that they’re going to be an excellent kitten-puppy chaos team once Echo fully settles in. 🤪

just finishedIt’s been a pretty slow reading week, especially compared to the last couple of weeks! Adjusting to the new addition to our home has definitely thrown me off-track a bit this week, but I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things by the weekend. I finally finished Drowning, which was excellent, and Misty and I buddy re-read ACOTAR, which is always a favorite for me. This was my first time listening to the GraphicAudio version and it was neat, but I have to say that I prefer the regular version. I also have the GraphicAudio versions for ACOMAF, so I’ll be listening to those for our re-read of it in a couple of weeks, but then I probably won’t get the graphic versions of the rest of the series.

📚 current reads 📚

Still only five current reads, look at me go! 😂 I was supposed to read the first half of Breakable Things with Misty yesterday but Echo had a tummyache that had me pretty distracted last night. I’m hoping to finish that book today since it’s so short, and then Misty and I are starting a buddy read of Iron Flame tomorrow! 🤩🥳 I’m SO ready! My pre-order is still en route and it’s in purgatory at a USPS terminal near me that is notorious for losing my packages, so I’m probably going to Barnes & Noble to just grab a copy off the shelf today. 👀

and everything else I re-subscribed to GameHouse Originals’ gaming subscription like I do every holiday season. 😂 Ever since I was a kid, I always spend Nov & Dec playing a ton of time management games like the Delicious series. Right now I’m trying out the mobile version of their sub and playing a game called Arcane Arts Academy about a college student who has to work shifts doing odd jobs around the magical school she’s just started attending. It’s cute so far!

Feel free to friend me on Letterboxd if you wanna see my movie mini reviews!

What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Aah, Echo is adorable 😍 I probably wouldn’t have been able to resist taking her home either! Looks like you had a great reading week despite only reading two books. I hope you enjoy all your current and future reads as well and have an awesome rest of your week, Destiny!

    1. Omg Echo is adorable! I wish our puppies could get together and have a play date😁 We just did a DNA test on ours and confirmed he’s cattle dog/shepherd.

      1. Thank you! I wish so too, that would be the best! 😂 Aw, I love that! What a great combo. I’ve never had a DNA test done on a pet but always thought it would be so fascinating – maybe I’ll finally take the plunge and get one done on this little girl some time 😄

Say hello! ♥
