It’s time for a weekly check-in!
Thank you so much to everyone who extended well wishes last week. ♥ My mental health has been MUCH better this week! I’m still not totally sure what triggered the depressive spiral or if it was just one of those random things, but I’m feeling human again, lol. It’s been a good week, though Monday was exhausting: we took Isaac to a Christmas lights event near us, and we weren’t expecting it to be busy, but it ended up being PACKED and honestly it was super anxiety-inducing. Isaac had a good time, though, and I took yesterday off from work to recuperate. Something about being in a crowd wears me out in a way it never used to and I have to assume it’s from spending 2+ years not really going anywhere—does anyone else have this issue?
It was a pretty solid reading week, too! I got to read books from 3 of my favorite authors of all time and I had some really lovely buddy reads! I buddy read Lost in the Moment and Found with Ashley, The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes with Sophril, This Savage Song with Misty, and Mysteries of Thorn Manor with Jordyn.
- Lost in the Moment and Found // Seanan McGuire ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Snapdragon // Kat Leyh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Gothic Blue Book VI: A Krampus Carol // Cynthia Pelayo ❌DNF❌ (I just wasn’t in the mood for quiet historical horror)
- The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes // Eva Leigh ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- This Savage Song // V.E. Schwab ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
- Mysteries of Thorn Manor // Margaret Rogerson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I finished all of my priority picks from last week! I hadn’t done that in a minute so I’m feeling very productive. This week’s top 3 priority picks are buddy reads, like last week. I’m starting Our Dark Duet with Misty today, Malli and I just started The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and I’ve got to start Krampus today so I can finish it in time for the group read discussion on Sunday.

We finally switched back to Spotify after using Apple Music for the last couple of years (because it was free with our phone plan), and I didn’t realize how much I had missed Spotify radio stations and my Discover Weekly playlist! I’ll leave you with a new-to-me cover I’m obsessed with.
Heads up: you can always friend me on Letterboxd if you wanna see my movie mini reviews!
What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Is anything exciting happening in your life? Let me know in the comments!
