July 10, 2019

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

This week, my “finish or DNF” goal will be The Rest of the Story!

  1. Godsgrave
  2. The Rest of the Story
  3. Ragged Alice
  4. A Court of Thorns and Roses (reread)
  5. Prince’s Gambit (reread)
  6. In the Shadow of Spindrift House
  7. Imaginary Friend

✨ review copy
? graphic novel/manga
? poetry
? children’s book
? from this month’s TBR
?‍♀️ mood read
⌛ set aside for later
? reread
? audiobook

This week continued the trend of DNFing and/or setting aside current reads relentlessly, because I finally admitted to myself that having so many books going at the same time was leaving me feeling so overwhelmed, I simply didn’t want to read anything at all.

  1. ??‍♀️ As the Crow Flies
  2. ✨ Immunity ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  3. ?‍♀️ Decluttering at the Speed of Life ⭐⭐⭐
  4. ✨? Witchy ?????
  5. ✨? Garden of Ravens (rating TBD)
  6. ✨? Aphrodite Made Me Do It ?????
  7. ✨? The Halloween Tree ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  8. ✨? The Tea Dragon Festival ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  9. ✨❌ Wilder Girls
  10. ✨ House of Skin (rating TBD)
  11. ✨⌛ The Phantom Forest (DEFINITELY picking this back up soon!)
  12. ✨❌ Hope and Other Punchlines

This is the first time in over a month I’m putting anything in this section!

I want to get started on all of my July group read books this week:

  1. Dead to the World
  2. If You See Her
  3. We Have Always Lived in the Castle
  4. Hunting Prince Dracula (reread)

Have you read any of the titles I mentioned in this post, or are any on your TBR? Let me know in the comments!

I’ve ordered Wilder Girls! I’m curious to know why you DNF’d it. Fab post as always!

Sorry for the late reply to this! I just couldn’t connect with it and it wasn’t at all what I expected, but I feel like everyone has had such mixed thoughts on it! It seems very polarizing. I’d love to hear what you thought of it if you’ve read it yet!

Why did you DNF Wilder Girls? I have this on hold at the library. You know my reading tastes, so let me know if it’s something I should avoid!

Oh noooo, this is so late, I’m sorry! I couldn’t get into it at all. 🙁 I wish I could have. I was so excited for it. Did you end up reading it yet?

Yay! I’m so glad that you’ve made your currently reading shelf more manageable! I hope you enjoy everything!

I just want to say that I really admire and appreciate the way you have openly talked about your reading list. It’s something that isn’t uncommon with readers, particularly us bloggers, that causes an anxiety that likely seems unreasonable to non-readers.
This is a method of self-care that is NEEDED without the stigma that I’ve seen some people attach to it. So thanks.
