It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!
WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking On a World of Words. It’s a meme that takes place every Wednesday, where the posters discuss 3 Ws:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What I’m currently reading:
You might notice a book missing from my currently/finished reading sections, and that’s because I finally decided to set For the Wolf aside for a little while! I was really enjoying it so far, so it’s not a lack of interest at all, but I think I over-committed myself to some things in February and so I’m going to be saving For the Wolf for my March TBR!
- the shadow of the gods // john gwynne
- dead silence // s.a. barnes
- vespertine // margaret rogerson
What I recently finished:
It might look like I’ve been productive when you see that I read 5 books in the past week, buuuut nah, three were graphic novels and one was a 5-minute short story audiobook. 😂
- don’t turn on the lights // cassandra khaw
A super creepy breath of fresh air for my all-time favorite urban legend.
- a psalm for the wild-built // becky chamber
Despite having given it a very generous 3-star rating, this is definitely going into the running for “most disappointing books of 2022” for me. 🙃
- eat the rich #1 // sarah gailey
Forever mourning how immensely hit-and-miss Sarah’s writing is for me. This was a miss.
- ten days in a mad-house: a graphic adaptation // nellie bly
A very good adaptation of a VERY sad book.
- slip // marika mccoola
Almost nothing redeeming to say about this one, ouch!
What I’ll read next:
I want to try to knock out some of the shortest things on my TBR (a few graphic novels, a de-cluttering book, and two horror novellas) really quickly before picking up A Court of Silver Flames!
- something is killing the children, vol. 3 // james tynion iv
- shades of magic, vol. 1-3 // v.e. schwab
- elle(s), vol. 1 // kid toussaint
- organizing for the rest of us // dana k. white
- the plumbers // terry m. west
- lamella // max halper
- a court of silver flames // sarah j. maas
What are you reading right now, or what did you recently finish? Let me know in the comments!

Enjoy your reading!
I’m currently reading Malice!
Thank you! I hope you’re enjoying Malice – I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I’m currently in the middle of 3 books. I’m reading Again, but Better by Christine Riccio, Different Seasons by Stephen King and The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren which I’m planning to finish tonight.
Oooh, Different Seasons and The Unhoneymooners are both on my TBR! I’ve only ever read two Christina Lauren books, but both were so fun. I hope you enjoy all of your current reads!
The Unhoneymooners was amazing!!
I love finishing short stories, it makes me feel SO accomplished! I’m reading Weather Girl now and lovingggg it!!!!
Agreed! Ahhh, I’m so glad you’re loving Weather Girl! 😀 I can’t wait to read your review!
I actually just posted my review of it this morning! https://frayedbooks.wordpress.com/2022/02/11/audiobook-review-weather-girl/ LOVED IT!!!
Still so sad about A Psalm for the Wild-Built, it could have been so much better 😔 I hope you like Vespertine, idk when I’ll get around to reading it, but I’ve got to definitely read it this year! 😄
I knooow, I’m so bummed haha! It had such potential. Vespertine has been great so far, though! 😀 I hope you like it when you read it!
There are so many amazing books in this post I don’t even know where to start! Your 2022 looks like it’s going amazingly so far!
Thank you, Ellyn! It’s honestly been a great reading year so far for me!
I love Cassandra Khaw’s short stories, they’re always directly hits the right level of spookiness!
Yessss, I so agree with this! I’ve loved all the short stories I’ve read of theirs and I need more!
I am trying to include one graphic novel a month for my TBRs. I’ll be coming to you for recs!!
Yay, please do! I love me some graphic novels and would be happy to help! 🥰
Dead Silence sounds so good. It’s one of many horror books on my TBR this year. I hope you are enjoying it as well as your other reads!
It’s so good so far, that I honestly can’t believe I haven’t finished it yet. I keep getting distracted by reading other things too lol
